ZXR750 H2 1989 Jap model speed limiter issue

Hi

Not sure how it happened but now the owner of a race bike 1989 zxr 750 h2 jap import with speed limiter on cdi runs to 8000 then cuts out.the wiring has been changed with a resistor put in and earthed to the frame but the other end pink wire is not attached to anything I believe it should be ...
