Well, I have a Z1000. The nephew is a bit green (pardon the pun) and not confident for a 1000, his choice.

The nephew is looking at one to buy, are they a good thing. Any inherent problems? Cheers

Kinda irresponsible considering I was in suburbia and wearing shorts and a tshirt but it felt so good!

Just been down this path, and an Z09 now resides in the shed. Fortunately mine had upgrades to suspension and exhaust when I got it. It's heaps of fun and I am very happy with it. Unless your a boy racer, don't dismiss the 2nd series. Also, my agreed insurance value is 5k more than than I paid for ...

That is a stock zeddy shock pictured the 14 shock has the canister turned sideways and if it was/is my old bike the 14 shock I used was black

Did it make much of an improvement over the standard shock?

Just picked up a Z1000 2009 which came with a non-standard rear shock fitted. I was told that the shock fitted was from a ZX-14 ?? I was also given the original.

How do I identify a ZX-14 shock and the original?

Hi, with limited funds I want to buy a Z1000. Some have told me that the earlier bikes 03-06 MY is better than the 2nd 07-09 MY?
I would greatly appreciate your views if you have experience with both. I have only ridden an 07 MY.
