She's looking good Jim! 8)
Very sorry to hear about the issues you had at the beginning. None of those things ever happened to me (she always started up and no jammed fuel caps ever, I swear!).
As an aside, the QA throttle was from a B model 636 from memory. The switch block was a bit slippy on ...

Re: Runners....
Ran the half marathon at the Run Melbourne event today. It's the longest distance I've ever done, with the previous longest being a stop/start 18k around the Yarra river and the Tan area.
I think I got a sub 1.45 time, but I'm hoping that I'll be closer to 1.40 - not bad for a third event hey?

Re: Removing the shift rod from the rearset
Yeah but no
Undid the shift rod from the rose ends, but they're very much stuck. The rose ends are stuck on the pegs/shift linkage.
Should I pry them off with a big flathead or stump for a new set from Kaneg?
(Hi Pete
)
Thomas.

Removing the shift rod from the rearset
Hi all,
Newbie question
How do I remove the shift rod banjo thingy from the OEM rearset? I have some shiny new rearsets to put on but they didn't come with the shift rod or the shift link.
Bike is a 93 ZXR 750.
Cheers,
Thomas.

Re: H.I.D.LIGHT CONVERSION HELP
HID's use a lot of battery power to start up. Notice the bright flicker, then the slow brightening of the beam? The initial flicker takes a lot of charge to do.
I reckon you're not getting enough battery power with the bike off, but the switch to 'ON'. Maybe upgrade the battery to a higher CCA one ...

Not exactly on the Island, but she can go here while you're at the track to keep you in the good books

Re: Runners....
I got into running because I have a desk job, and all I did was watch my waistline grow day by day... And then in a drunken moment I agreed to do the 14k fun run as a bet. And then I got addicted
I also hear that swimming is one of if not the best non-impact ways of exercising around ...

Re: Runners....
I just started running myself, having given up smoking recently.
Ran the 14k Run For The Kids course in Melbourne here, and did the 8k Mother's Day Classic a couple of weeks ago. In training to do a half mara for Run Melb in July.
It's a great hobby, and it really brings out the competitive ...
