Oxtar "squeak" fix

Mon Dec 12, 2005 10:24 pm

After reading the rave reviews here on the oxtar boots I picked up a pair. I used the silicone oil that came in the box but it was useless! squeak squeek... So determined to win I dug out a tube of synthetic grease *with Teflon* and squeezed it under and over the sliders. Quiet as a lamb now except for some leather sounds.
the brand was TRI-FLOW and I bought it some time back at a bicycle shop, "push-bikes shop"

I have a pair of squeaky too, I get away with RP7.
Only use them on weekends, so I'll only need to lube them once every 2 mths.
