The problems are for those with Duck's disease who are at a significant leverage disadvantage.

Try moving a bike like a Z1300, or a raised GSX1100 the way you mention, and you'll see how quickly the bike becomes unstable.
There is also a strength requirement, and a slim build can belie a fair amount of strength, which some of the female members may not be able to match.

But if the bike is on any sort of incline/dodgy surface you'll want access to the brake, which is on the other handle bar, and not quickly accessible if your hand is at the other end of the bike.

You're right if someone wants to do it, they just will, a little bit of advice can be handy for those who don't yet know though.

mate..wen i was 19/20 (just before the zx6r) i had a cb900 "rolladoor"...i moved it this way (or by putting the hip in if i had to go up hill etc)...tho i put my back out dropping an xs1100 at the bike shop i was working at...trying to push it with a hand on the seat...lol

Yeah, it's a bitch when that happens :(

At least when you have an accident while riding it happens real fast, and you don't get much time to think.
When you drop it wheeling it around, it happens much slower, giving you time to think "Well I'd be a right farkin idiot wouldn't I", you can never blame another driver or road conditions, and people are invariably watching and cracking up.

Saw one of the new ER6n bikes in black at Brighton Kawasaki today. I have to admit it doesn't look too bad, a lot more presentable in the flesh.

I'll ask if I can sit on it this arvo, but at first glance it's higher than the ZZR. Having said that it may squat a bit, and I may be pleasantly surprised.

I don't know why, but I can't shake the association with this bike as being a learner bike, even though I know it isn't. :?
