I spoke to a Bridgestone Rep the other day about them.

He says they are a member of the 012 family, i.e sports tyre, but have a 65 profile whereas the 012 & 012SS are available in 60 & 70 profile but no 65.

Aardvark - when you say your oredered a set, did you order a BT019 for the rear? or are you having a 012 rear/019 front?

James,

I have a 020 on the rear. I don't mind having a harder compound on the rear, but prefer to stick with the sticky stuff on the front.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I also believe the new ZX6's have 019's fitted.

Rob?

righto...all

yodas been digging....
mystery solved ..me thinks....

Bridgestone BT019...is listed by Kawasaki and Bridgestone
as the OE tyre for the latest (2003 on) ZX6RR
for the FRONT ONLY

and
that is the only application i can find for this tyre......

got that...???
btw
the rear for the ZX6RR is a BT012/012SS

the replacement aftermarket tyre for the BT019 listed by Kawasaki and Bridgestone ....is BT012SS

the current Zx6r or 636 OE fitment (according to kawasaki and Bridgestone) is ....
BT010 F & R with aftermarket replacement being BT010 or BT020 Sport
BT014 is listed as an aftermarket replacement also

the BT014 is listed as aftermarket for lots.....
ZXr750, Zephyr, GPZ900 Zx9r etc...

hope that helps....

cheers

Ahh, cheers Ian. I got frustrated when I couldn't find the answer in 5 minutes today. Clears things up.

Was gonna get the 014's, but apparently they are out of stock for a week.

We'll see how the 019's go. They go on tomorrow.

hmmmm
Jase..did you order a set of 019's or just the front.....???
coz according to Bridgestone they don't make a rear 019
and so..
the ZX6RR has the 019 on the front and 012SS on the rear....

maybe you should check.....

Ian,

Just the one. Put it on this morning. 019 on front, 020 on rear.

Did a heap of wheelies to help bump the waxey shit off... you think that'll help?

whaa.....
do you really believe waving the front wheel in the air......
will get the mould release (the waxy shit) off.....????

No Ian, waving it around in the air will not work.
It's when it comes back down, and the tyre hits the bitumen. That knocks the wax off!
