Brisk plugs are a good thing

Just thought you guys might be interested in these.

Got myself a set and after a little cranking she sprang into life and idled better from dead cold straight off the mark. There's more grunt available and once warmed up I had to turn down the idle 200 rpm. 8)

Is that last bit written in the ad? Coz I have an old listing in my ebay which lists the 7, as well as a whole bunch of bikes including the above. Maybe it is a recent discovery or something, but I cannot see how it would not work in them, if it is a CR9E replacement plug etc. What is the go?

Whats the ignition steup like in a 7R? Mabye he's had alot of complaints about the plugs not working. The ignition needs alot of grunt to jump that large gap.

well, i can get pretty nice NGK platinum jobbies for about 1/8-1/10th the price!!! so are you telling me these things make the bike 8 to 10 times better??? man, $20 a plug... ouch!
very interesting concept though!

Did I read it wrong. I thought it was $6 for the first plug and then $1 for every additional plug...

oh... that was the shipping fee

In any case... if they actually DO make a noticable difference, they would be worth $80...

I have been thinking, recently I had one of my plugs fouled by petrol... would this sparkplug be less likely to do that?

maybe people have bought them for the 7 and found out they dont work properly.

They have made a noticable difference to my '98 6R. The plugs that are now my spares are a set of std 5k old NGKs, so it wasn't like the old plugs were stuffed either. You guys with younger bikes that have plug top coils should have an even better result.

Well I'm glad someone has had a lash at these plugs........I have been wondering for months wether they are any good.......but like most people , at around $80 a set :shock: they would want to be a *whole* lot better than your common-or-garden platinum plugs :wink:

$20 bucks per plug ?? ..........hmmm, I must tell a related 'plug' story.....

back in 1981, when you could buy a set of 6 NGK plugs for your Holden Red 6 for about 6 bucks.........there was a spark-plug called the 'Golden Lodge' - standard equipment in Lambos, Ferraris, etc. It had 4 earths around the electrode, and didn't need gapping.

Thes plugs were $6 EACH FFS !!!! $24 f'n dollars for a 4 cyl bike :shock: :shock: it was unheard of , and considered an outlandish expense.........so I got a set :D , and bugger me, the bike ( this was the EFI Zed.)....immediately idled better, and pulled through the gears better. I have never forgotten this, it was really quite strange to consider that a sparkplug could be a *performance* accesory.......

history just keeps repeating :wink: Aussie Ninja, you have convinced me to get a set of these and see for myself........ :D

I spoke to Dave from Ultimoto today (formerly ProMoto)... He is willing to try a test case .... at cost price... he will get the plugs for you...

I am keen, but the wife has just bought a new bike... so I am out of cash for now...

I'll be back-to-back testing a set within a few months too. (I only need 1/2 as many :lol: )

I've always ran the standard dual electrode CR9EK plugs and never switched to the CR9EIX iridiums because for whatever reason, the suzuki engineers fitted the dual electrode plugs that don't shield any of the spark like a usual strap does. (I guess I could have always indexed a set of iridiums). But the Brisk plugs don't shroud the spark same as the NGK CRxEK's.

So because of the lack of a ground strap I'll try them.
