I should be out riding, I was, so why arn't I now.

Because I did something very embarasing and droped the trumpy doing a U-Turn

Rowlands Hill Road at Coramandel Valley as it turns out, has an off camber slope on it, and my legs are not long enough to bounce a bike back up before hitting the point of no return. Once again, I survive many a neart miss at high speed, but fug it up on a simple manauver, to the detriment of my bank account.

Damage is broken left indicator, broken left peg, scratched pipe (though luckly only in the place it was already scratched... just its easier to see now), bent front brake lever, but the big one...... cracked fairing (as well as the usual battle scars of scratched paint and decals).

Some days your just glad to have insurance. dunno when i'm going to get time to drop it into a repairer though... or even which repairer I should go through with a trumpy (don't particularily want to go to peter stevens). Not having a bike will also be a large inconveniance.

sorry to hear about it

don't you hate that. i dropped my bike getting off the rear race stand once. it was about 1 month old. i was pissed. luckily for me my garage had some old carpet and didn't scratch the fairing. the most embarrasing thing is that i was stuck underneath it. All i could do was call out to my neighbour to come and rescue me.

BUGGER!!

If it's any consolation, I went for a cruise up through Williamstown and Tanunda. A hard days work....

Sorry to hear that ! I did this once too no damage though (it's a kwaka ).

There should be written somewhere in the manual: don't u-turn, use 3-point turn.

i was kinda wondering how you could break the left hand indicator and mirror, and bend your break lever? i guess my prep teacher didn't do too good a job teaching me right from wrong.... i mean left from right.

bad luck mate. if its any conslation, i almost dropped the nine at shell west gate today, backing it up to hit greg's kill switch. nut my lanky legs kept it up. *why dod i just say that when i'm pretty sure no-one saw it?*

Too bad you didnt have crash's on your bike... you could have avoided all of this...

I feel your pain, although I'm yet to do that on a bike with any particular worth.

The VTR is a dog of a thing to do u-turns/tight manouvres on. I rode a amte's GSXR600 yesterday and I reckon I can u-turn in HALF the space I need to do it confidently on the VTR. The first u-turn I did I almost dropped it (your hands hit the tank before full lock!), and despite being 5'7" somehow I managed to get a foot down and catch it!!
