I've got a zxr4 which desparately needs new tyres. The bike is to be strictly used on the track however i'm avoiding the purchase of slicks due to varying weather conditions.
Can anyone recommend which tyres and which size would be most suitable ?!?!
Any advice would be appreciated

We put a set of Bridgie 014 's on Janelles 4, but Cyclone TracyKat had pilot Sports put on hers.
I will check tomorrow to find out if any newer tyres have been made avialable in the correct size.
One of the good things about the zrx4 is the fact they were released with GP250 size rims 120/17/60 & 160/17/60.
hth.
Cheers Brett

Just buy slicks. They're cheaper, grip better, last longer in track use and don't actually give anything away to treaded tyres in terms of grip in the sorts of wet weather in which you'll actually bother to go out lapping. Once there's significant water on the track, anything short of a racing wet-weather tyre is going to have you on your arse if you go pushing it.

As i mentioned i'm avoiding buying slicks as going between Eastern Creek and Wakefield park during the year means huge differences in weather conditions so since i dont have the $$$ for slicks of wet and dry conditions i'd rather stick with a sports based tyre (I had no troubles doing track days with a sports touring tour on my previous zzr and had great grip for all conditions - mornings at wakefield can start out heaps frosty and end up nasty heated so i dont want to be swapping over during the day)
Any feedback on gprs - i think the rgv's are popular with using them?
i'm thinking of a 120/70 front and 150/60 rear or 160/60?

Mate gpr70s are great things and where designed....quite a long time ago for 250cc proddie racing could give them a go or see if they make a pilot race in your sizes.
track day bike a second hand set of slicks in the right size would be ok even new ones if you rich just take it easy for the first session and park them in the sun.
