First Service

Postby Blackzxr » Sun Aug 08, 2004 10:02 pm

Well im getting up to the 500 km mark and i want to get the first service done. They say 1000 kms, but i've run it in pretty hard and i want to get the oil and filter done now.
Should i take it to the shop, being the first service and have them do it / do the manufactures advisory checks and shite as well, or just do it myself. :?:

Mate, if it were me, I'd just change the oil and get the Kwakka service done at 1000 kays. Can't change the oil too often.

Rob
agree with Jase....
do the oil and filter ourself now....
also do a safety check..all bolts
chain length, tyre pressures (do NOT assume they are correct)
all fluid levels etc...
should only cost you for the oil and filter
if the pre-delivery was done proper...

and then do the 1000 at the dealer
and get them to check everthing...then

cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

It got its first wash today, i gave it a good check over and everything looks OK. Just want some good weather (when i'm not working, or busy) so i can get out for a long ride.

Rob,

How are you finding the engine so far (I know its early days), I ran mine in reasonably hard compared to what the owners manual recommends and find it great, loves to rev.

Also, how you finding the suspension on the '04 ? I don't think this changed much form the '03 still damn hard I think.

Matt
It does love to rev and likes playing in the mid rev range. I haven't
red lined it yet, I am behaving a little still. I can't wait till I've
done about 1000kms, then all bets are off and I'll ride it how I like.
I got a 11/03 build and Picked it up new as a run out model. The
suspension is pretty hard isn't it, but I think the bike is very stable
still. I already feel more comfortable on this, than my old 98 ZX7R, I
had for about 4 years.
NB: The 03 is better than the 04, anyway ;-)

Cheers
Rob
