don't feel the need to appologise mate.......there is no more cowardly act they could commit and no punishment severe enough for them

Al Quaeda ...have claimed responsibility

the big problem here for Bush Blair and Co (that includes us Aussies)
is Al Quaeda have no one country base
and have no agenda..other than the destruction of the western world
or conversion to what they see as civilisation....

'cept it aint civilized...Bali, Madrid and London prove that

hope Bush Blair...and Howard
save their ammo, til they see the right enemy in their sights

maybe this has gone on long enuf & they should b found, and punished...actually, NO MAYBES....

A terrorist attack is never welcomed.
Deepest condolences to the familes of those who lost their lives.

Be glad that this time the terrorist never really got what they wanted.
The death toll is relatively low considering that 7 bombs went off during peak hour. They may be back for more.

Anything can happen anywhere, there's really nuthing much we can do except to live life to the max and ride our bikes. I'd rather get killed on my bike than by terrorist attacks.

The world leaders can say watever they want, we'll see wat are they going to do next.

unfortunately we are at war at the moment.
It is a strange war, to our civilisation because there is no clear enemy.
They're attacks are based on deception and inflict maximum damage.
and it is the unknown that makes it so hard to fight.
there is no right in war and there is definately no winner.

i think the motivation behind the attacks is even harder to understand because we live in a society where peace and human life is always valued highly, and compromise and basic fairness is seen as a better alternative to conlict.

Racism is a big motivator behind a terrorists action, as is envy.
The problem we have is they won't let up.
they are fighing against western ideas and reasoning, an that is the only thing that will make them stop.
how do you negotiate with an army's leader when he can't be found?
it's hard to see a solution, but one thing is for sure.
These actions are unacceptable, we have to find a way to strike back.

Sorry for rambling on, just wanted to get my 2c out there and off my chest. My thoughts are with everyone with all those involved, may the victims rest in peace.

It's disgusting that this kinda stuff has happened.

I was in the car on the way home from worjk when i first heard of it, there was even mention made wondering if it was a disgruntled frenchman pissed that they didn't get the olympics there. But it was only said in a (rather poor) humor attempt.

One thing from it that i did find a bit disturbing was the initial generalisation of any arabs into this (bbc correspondant said something along the lines of "any arab would jump at the opportunity to do this", which doesn't cover all of them, just a rather fucked up & selfish minority). The second was the immediate blaming of Al Queda (sp=?) before any claims or anything had been confirmed.

*sigh* i just dont want the world to go to hell in a handbasket, but it seems to lately (hell i saw 2 articles about people being arrested for saying bomb on a plane/in an airport). Which is just sad..

Anyway id dnt mean to rant, but i hope that all your friends accquaintences & family were unhurt in this. This is a rare time for me to say it, but "God Bless" :-).

I would expect the Brits to move very quickly and severly against any suspected operatives on their territory. The British people are not very tolerant of attacks on their own soil, and thus the government can probably get away with anything, as far as the public is concerned, in response to this.

Again, it just proves the delusion of these terrorists. They actually achieved nothing. It is a bigger victory in the terrorists minds, than in the reality of the worlds politics and economies. The more action they take, the more the west and their enemies learn of their tactics and methods. This will undoubtly lead to their undoing.

Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:42 am

Due to twenty + years of IRA terror the British have gritted their teeth and got on with their lives. This is the only way to go. If you refuse to do something due to a terror attack then the terrorist has won.

To prove the point a friend got married 10 days after the 9-11 twin tower tragedy. We flew London to Chicago exactly 7 days after the towers were hit, went to the wedding then the US GP (which had more than 6 cars running  ) and came home on American Airlines. It's not about who has the most balls, it's about keeping your freedom - TERRORISTS WILL NEVER WIN

Absolutely no reason to apologise Damon. I see no reason why we should give any quarter to any of these bastards or any country that harbours or supports them.

Condolences to anyone impacted by this. More power to the Brits, they've copped this shit for years and they'll beat it again.

.

a bit of an aside here...
Blair was in trouble, politically with introducing the UK ID card
with his party politicians crossing the floor to vote against it

I would say he will have no problems now..........

London has seen it all before way before all this 911 crap, bombed by the Germans and bombed by the IRA in the 70's, they have the resources to catch these bastards and make them pay.
In fact, i know a couple of murdering bastards who gave the word to kill and maim innocent people on the British mainland, they even blew up one of our greatest war heroes, they are of course Martin Mcguiness and Gerry Adams and they still are Britains number one terrorists.

Oh look i'm Regular

Dont know how anyone will ever stop this kind of shit but Lets hope that the type of spirit typified by people on this forum will keep OZ a safe place for all without racist crap that some bastards are happy to perpetuate .

I managed contact with my Mum and bros last night, as they are the ones most likely to be in London, thankfully they are safe and many miles away.

Sorry, but I have no confidence that the people responsible will be brought to justice. The IRA only stopped bombings because Blair and 'Gerry Adams' started having meetings to try and solve the dispute of who N. Ireland belongs to. Nothing has actually been solved there. The IRA are still going and at least till 9/11 were funded by the Americans! Ironic isn't it?
Maybe they stopped because they no longer are able to get the weapons, but Blair gets the credit. The British Government will never hand back Northen Ireland now because if they do they will be seen to be giving in to terrorism.

The main problem in the world is that everybody thinks that they are right and everybody has very little tolerance of other cultures.
The West has interfered too much and pissed the East off.
I am not religious but I respect the right of my fellow human beings to believe what they have the right to believe, whether is is God, Vishnu, Thor or Satan.
I see terrorists as 2 year olds. They dont like what is happening and they have tried to make themselves heard, but due to a lack of communication where the *adult* has closed their ears, they fight back and try to get themselves heard any way they can. A 2 year old will have his/her temper in the middle of a shopping mall because he/she has been told no. A terrorist will blow that shopping mall up if its been told no. Dont get me wrong I DO NOT symphasize with them and I believe what they are doing is wrong nothing gives anybody the right to murder another.
Sympathy and condolences to those affected.
