Sorry to hear Tony! Glad you're ok for the most part though.

Hope that leg heals up 100% and you get your baby back in action soon!

Tony, glad to hear you are OK.

Check that your rearsets aren't bent. When I got sideswiped by a truck a while back it bent the one on the lhs....took me a while to figure out why the gear change felt funny.

TY, man u have the worst luck..u keep crashing or getting hit, man, glad ur ok tho...as for the leg, sure, get it looked at, u wouldnt want recurring oproblems, BUT dont abuse the system..its inelligible claims like that that keep pushing EVERYONE of our greenslip premiums up...u wont get that much anyway (my mum got cleaned up in a parking lot by an 18yo P plater 3 yrs ago, walking across the road, and is still fighting to get the medical costs paid!! and shes not even trying to get $$$$$ out of em!!

Anyone heard of a bike insurance quote getting a 'desktop assessment'?

Well, it happens. I got letter from Swann on Tuesday saying the claim was sent to the assessors for 'desktop assessment', and my shop got a letter today to go ahead with the repairs.
Woohoo!

Just gotta wait for the parts to come in now then she'll be good as new.

PS - final quote was $3K

Ouch, I guess faired bikes don't have cheap claims.

Don't think I've seen the new one yet Tony, perhaps Sunday ? (if I'm not busy building an Ark! )

Matt

PS. as long as I've mentioned insurance, Shannons has just moved in upstairs at work ! Easy for a quote next feb !!

AAMI did this with my daughters car. It makes sense because they can't justify the cost of sending an assessor out for rleatively small claims. I would've thought for $3k though they'd have a look.

Desktop Assessment

Postby jewjew » Thu Jun 30, 2005 3:01 pm

Guys,
A desktop assessment is just when your repairer sends in digital pics of the damage and some guy looks at them and says yes or no. They usually use a high res camera 4.2Mp + for the pics so that the assessor can zoom in on the pics and check them out. It is much faster and cleaner that sending out an assessor.

No pics involved here jewjew - my repairer simply got a fax saying 'do it'.
In this case they looked at my description of the accident, looked at the repairs, and went 'fair enough'.
Brett, knee's fine, bike will soon be fine :D
