lost key 2013 z1000 help (vic)

Postby sunshine » Wed May 15, 2019 5:45 pm

been a very very long time since posting here ..not to many vic people still here
anyhows
I have lost a key for 2013 z1000

I purchased a key and had it cut … I now need to flash the immobilizer to start it

Peter theifens wants $70 bucks for this
if all things are equal ...its just a matter of plugging in the diagnostic tool and flashing the new key
which wipes the old code and replaces both keys with a new code .. so im led to believe

I wonder if anyone else has ..flashed there key via the ecu with a kawa diagnostic tool
and was it successful

and no the bike hasn't been stolen or being rebirthed either

cheers Mick

From what I've seen, if you have the red master key, you can do it yourself.
But by the sounds of it, you only have the new key that you've just had cut.. I don't think theres a "cheap" way to do it.
There was a guy in QLD that was reasonably priced who helped out with my Brother's FZ1, but was a slightly different situation

$70 is pretty reasonable for any kind of service in this day and age

Yep I also think these days to get anyone to do anything under $100.00 is pretty reasonable
