Radio waves go the speed of light? last i heard they went at the speed of sound. Or did i fail science as a lad for a reason?

Yup radio waves travel at the speed of light- roughly 300 000 km/sec or 186 000 Mile/sec.
ZZR1200s travel at the speed of sound..... 8)

Can't get better than that in today's competitive bike industry!

hmm does that mean cbr1000, cbr1100 and cb1300 would beat it too??
really, theres a lot of bikes that will go fast out there, we r truely blessed (except with yamy's and spewies...lol)

Neka, certainly the CBR1000 will give stiff compeitition. You could possibly add the 1100 as well although it is slower than the ZZR12 (not by much, however). Forget the CB1300, though.

The problem with the R1 is keeping it planted from on the deck from a standing start. Not easy and takes a good rider (usually an experienced drag racer) to do it. Otherwise, your CB1300 may have a chance, albeit slim.

indeed, not something i've ever done before, and hopefully i don't do ever again!!

Mick C wrote:Radio at the speed of sound? I hope not! Looks like you might have to pull those high school science books back out again

 told ya. I was just confusing magnetic waves with sound waves.
i.e. radio waves being a form of sound wave, rather than being more closely related to light. in any case *oops*

Here's the production record holder. It's not a ZX, or GSX http://www.marineturbine.com/motorsports.asp

The critically acclaimed SUPERBIKE is the world's first turbine powered street legal motorcycle in its class, and has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most Powerful Motorcycle Ever to Enter Series Production" and the "Most Expensive Production Motorcycle". Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison gas turbine engine, the SUPERBIKE has demonstrated over 300 hp and 425 ft/lbs of torque on the Dyno Jet 200
