Anyone remember the South Australian politician that had a 200km or so police chase aboard his R1 last year? :D

Just think guys. Unless I'm mistaken and Yamaha has another bike in its range that matches the R1 in straight line speed/acceleration ... and I don't think they do ... Kawasaki has 3 current bikes that meet or even beat it ... being the Zx10R, Zx12R, and the ZZR1200.

Can't get better than that in today's competitive bike industry!

Just got home from Canberra, froze my nuts off coming up the Clyde.

But on the way home tonight i *think* i did a runner from the cops. Doing 145km/h along the Federal Hwy in absolutely shit conditions ( high crosswind & rain the size of ball bearings) as i just wanted to get the hell outta that weather front. i look up to see mr policeman in the centre devider bit of the road in his persuit car.

Methinks "fuck, did he see me?" in a mild panic, I look behind and see his party lights and i didn't know if they were for me or someone else. Either way i didn't want to find out, so i went, erm, a lot faster.

Got to Goulburn and hung about for an hour to let myself stop shaking (it was freezing too you see) and continued on my way.

Another thing i found is i am hell surprised by how courteous drivers are on the highway when your bearing down on them 30-70km/h faster than them :-D.

to keep on subject, i dont know how well my bike'll do a 1/4 mile, but it's fast enough for me :)

Radio waves go the speed of light? last i heard they went at the speed of sound. Or did i fail science as a lad for a reason?

I was wondering how your trip went mike. Sounds like you had a lucky break...the police training centre is based in Goulburn and they are absolutely feral around there.

Radio at the speed of sound? I hope not! Looks like you might have to pull those high school science books back out again
