Buckets Way

Postby Glen » Wed Jun 22, 2016 2:06 pm

Has anyone done buckets lately? I haven't been on it for years but I've got to be in Forster over the weekend for Chris's Bucks weekend so thought it might be a good opportunity to paddle the ZRX up around the Buckets.

Condition looks OK on Google maps but who knows how old that is. Having said that condition's not too much of an issue on the Ohlins Equipped Gentlemans Express 8)

We did it last October on the way to ride the Oxley. It hasn't changed much over the years. Still a bit repaired pot holed in places, but still anything is better than slabbing the highway. We did Putty, Singleton, Dungog, Gloucester to Nabiac, on route to the Oxley.

If you have time, you could go through Wisemans, Wollembi, Cessnock, Maitland, through Tocal or Clarence Town to Dungog to join Buckets Way. Or just hit the M1 and get onto Buckets at 12 Mile after Raymond Terrace if your pushed for time.

I was thinking Putty, Singleton, Dungog,Gloucester, Nabiac or alternatively head from the end of the Putty to Raymond Terrace via slab then do the whole Buckets loop.

If anyone's up for a mid week Putty I'm heading off about 8.30 - 9.00. Won't be coming back tomorrow though
