GPX750 is I think now old enough for club rego. Good choice. Has the H1 750 motor, which is close to 100hp and can still get good ones for a few grand. A lot lighter than the XS11 too. I think you would find an XS a real handful Andi. They are a big lumbering pig of a thing.

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Yes! That is my plan.

Well, the XS does have some Castrol 6 Hour race cred.
Off the top of my head, and If memory serves me correct, the big XS was one of the few modern-ish bikes that used vacuum advance in the igniton.

I get the impression that javaman is leaning toward a naked bike rather than a plastic fantastic.

Yes, a naked/simple bike fits the bill at my age

I hope Mal has not beaten me to it but there's a lovely GPZ900 for sale here! 8)

I love it when a plan comes together. And back to Kawasaki too 8)

As added bonus I will pick it up in NSW and ride it up the snowy mountains :D

Then next step would be to
- Join a club
- Register it on club rego in vic (would NSW rwc accepted btw?)
- Sell the R6 - but I want to ride it on Philip Island first.
- Ride not so often
- $$ saved :kuda:

Can't wait :D

I hope this will be the bike which I will hold for a looooong time. Until the 2005 ZX10R is 25 years old perhaps 8)

Has anyone ridden/owned this? What should I expect coming off from modern 600. Would it feel heavy?

Havent owned one but yes it will feel heavier and certainly bikes of that era will not tip in as well as modern stuff but that is pretty obvious because of the years between them.In saying that once you have spent some time on it older style bikes can still round up newer bikes with the right rider.
The old z900 has rounded up a few in its day but I have had her for over 30 years so were old friends which I hope you become with this classic.

Nice work Andy. Classic Kwaka at a good price. These were awesome back in the day. Very different from anything modern but pretty capable
