A friend of mine recently got back into riding after a 20 year Hiatus, his last bike was actually a ZXR-750 J2 ?? If I recall...(Green of course, not the one with the splash lower graphic)

Any one remember Parry's Kawasaki of Pennant Hills ?? It was purchased new from there. Mid 90's, More than Likely been there alot longer than that. Wonder What Happened to them.. ?

Anyways...

He had purchased an new Arai then and probably used it for maybe a year if that, then back into the helmet bag it went and sat in his closet till now.

He tells me that when he went to inspect it after all this time, the interior just crumbled, completely unusable. Funny that.

Here's my SHARK SPEED R V2

I had the V1 but after my stack on the ZRX it kinda wasn't in a road going shape any more.

At the price point ( MCAS ) had a sale on the day I went in. I couldn't say no.
I know I know they have an inbuilt sun visor which I like when I get stuck and don't have a tinted visor handy. But they irritate me a little.

I like the weight and comfort of these so I thought I'd stick with what I know haha.

Also here's the old one.

I have an early 90s Arai that looks like that. After a low side I put in back into it's original cloth sack and retired it to the back of my wardrobe in disgust.
I'll have to dig it out sometime and post it up. Funnily enough it was, then, a mint condition helmet with a genuine Arai dark visor. I only ever used it with the dark visor and so the original clear visor still sits on top on my cupboard in it's original protective plastic ! Never Used !
I don't recall the model, I think maybe a midrange helmet that was a nice deep cosmos type metallic black. I wasn't into graphic helmets then cos I didn't like much of the styling and hence went plain.
I have since though..

Dragged this out of the back of the wardrobe. Not even the moths would go near it. It predates AS1698.
Just the ticket if you have a ratty Z1 and don't want to look out of place with The Toecutter and the boys:

The current helmet is a bit fancier:

And when the Bronze want to steal your pride over the tint of the visor, you might have to revert to something clear:

If you ever wondered where the Aldi helmet got its graphics inspiration from, look no further than the Shoei Qwest Wanderlust TC1:

Very nice redman.

I'm almost up for a new helmet. Was think an Arai Rea replica but the Nakkers crazy crow eyes still looks cool

I'm a bit of a collector, either keeping my old helmets or buying used ones cheap to throw on display. Excuse the crap photos, just some quick shots on the phone tonight.

Just bought a new Arai Nakasuga 1 this week, patiently waiting for it to arrive.

Cheers,
Brian

These are all the usable ones, although I'm thinking that a couple of them are getting on a bit and need to be retired. From the top: Shoei Ueda 3, Arai Aoyama 1, Arai Okada 1, Arai Numata and Arai Fujiwara 2
