i just bought a pranged bike to convert into a streetfighter and i thought seeing im a member here and have received good advice previously from this forum that i'd ask a few questions here
so im wondering about this bike i just bought its a hyosung GT250R full fairing bike its smashed but not a written write off, im in NSW, and just wondering if i stick a motocross ADR approved headlight and blinkers on the bike plus a TrailTech speedometer would there be any problems registering the bike in NSW for a blue slip? this bike will be onsold to a cousin or mates for them to come riding with us on weekends
now if the above works and i can register the streetfighter this opens up a good chance for me, i cant ride super sports bikes as i get pins and needles in my hands, fingers, arms after 30mins of riding so i could possibly see my self selling my DRZ400E and buying a 1000cc super sports bike crashed from ebay and rebuilding it as a streetfighter with motocross handle bars and bar raisers so i dont get pins and needles
whats your thoughts and experiences guys?

First thing you need to check is can bikes be re-registered again once written off? This practice was stopped because of re-birthing.

thanks tim, the bike isnt written off but the ebay seller just said over the phone someone has taking the compliance plate off and all i needed to do was goto the RTA and get a new one

obviously doesnt know what hes talking about

Compliance plate has been taken off? Warning bells should be ringing there. Have you paid for the bike yet?

I'm with Tim, I don't think you can just get a new compliance plate......

I'm sure something else will come along, now the question is was it ebay, and are you going to get banned?
Thu Aug 21, 2014 11:54 am
tim yes it was ebay and the bloke left me bad feedback
Thu Aug 21, 2014 8:56 pm
I wouldnt worry too much about the feedback. I had an asshole bid and then not pay up. It was a pita trying go leave feedback on the arsehole. So in the end it doesnt really mean jack unless you do it regularly. U should have a right of reply against it

last week i sent an email to the RTA about modifying a bike into a streetfighter ie: taking off the headlight and fairings, the RTA forwarded my email onto technical department on friday and they got back to me today with this responce
Garry,
All lights must comply with ADR's, the removal of the fairing is not a problem.
Regards
Tech Enq
so a blue slip shouldnt be a problem, i can see my self buying a crashed ZX9R in the future and turning it into a streetfighter

they have that certain bit of sex appeal
