NEW FEMALE RACER IN FX300 NINJA CUP

Postby Jkracing » Fri Apr 25, 2014 9:11 pm

My name is Julie Klinker, I am a 21 year old female who has discovered the arts and passion for motorcycle riding and racing. I have been riding for 12 months on a Honda VT250 Spada to which I have done 33000kms. I have recently completed a trip to Victoria and I work on my own bikes and do all maintenance and repairs alone. Racing is something I have wanted to do for over 6 months now and I have been given the opportunity to do so. On my trips to Victoria, word quickly spread that I had the makings of a racer, and sure enough I got the phone call a few days after returning home. The Manager of Team Kelen Kawasaki had heard about my riding and was interested in taking someone new on board asking me whether I was interested in becoming the newest member of their team, riding their brand new Kawasaki Ninja 300, of course I was interested!

Shortly after speaking to Mark Watson, the team manager, I organised a meet and greet and a day to be on the track following this so he could see for himself what I was capable of. After doing so I have been accepted as their newest team member to race in the 2014 race series which is something I hope to succeed in.
The team Kelen Kawasaki has been in operation for four years originally formed in 2010 consisting of four riders including two A graders. It now consists of three riders including myself and has Kelen Kawasaki as its major sponsor. The team consists of the principal of Kelen Kawasaki, the manager, the race team manager, electronics technician, race mechanic, promotions manager and grid girls.
The series I will be racing in is a new series known as the FX300 ninja cup which will compete at all six rounds of the 2014 Australasian Superbike Championship in its own standalone nationally televised races. The rounds are held in states such as Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. This series is broadcasted on TV, SBS network on their Speedweek programme. Each race event (6) has expenses for event entry, tyres, fuel and all other consumable items on top of a yearly cost for a motorcycle racing license, insurances and all accommodation and travel expenses. Alongside this are costs for practice sessions which are held regularly at a minimum cost of $179.
Being one of only three female racers in this series in a sport that is majorly undertaken by men, it will be highly looked upon for a female to be racing motorbikes and coverage will be substantial. My aim of this racing is to promote women in sport and in particular to show that anything is possible, no matter how big your dreams may seem. My dream is to get on the racetrack but I need your help! Any sort of contribution you can afford to give me will be much appreciated.
In my quest of gaining sponsorship, giving back to you as my potential sponsor is something that sits at top priority for my goals. Giving all sponsors as much coverage as possible which can and will involve patches with your logo or business name on my racing leathers or riding gear and on my race bike itself. I also have created a social media page and website (to come) where all my sponsors will be written, promoted and linked to business websites regularly. My social media page sits at 345 followers in less than a week.

Having many show and shine day’s where the local community can come and meet and greet a female racer, take photos with myself and the bike which depending on the location of your business could be done on its premises. This will give an opportunity for business brochures and cards to be distributed and attract people to your business. I will be having fundraising BBQ’s and raffles as well.
Major sponsors will also have an opportunity to gain pit entry to race events where you can meet and greet the team and be part of the whole experience and an opportunity has risen for your business to be mentioned in the programme of the race event. Therefore both you and I will gain from this exciting opportunity and I would love for you to be part of this adventure with me.
