Transitional Visor - AMCN Magazine

Postby mile636 » Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:59 pm

Few months ago there was an ad in the new products section of the AMCN Magazine advertising the Transitional lens visors.

Has anyone got that issue or does anyone know here I can buy those visors?

Much Appreciated

Are you talking about the Fogcity HyperOptiks visor insert? If so, you should be able to get one at any bike shop. I had one on my old helmet and it was pretty good once you got used to the blue tint and having one side tinted but not the other side when the sun was at an angle.

TY has also tried another type which he has done a review on here http://www.ksrc-au.com/html/provision_sunfog_visor_insert_.html

I thought that it was a proper visor and not an insert.
I might have been wrong.

I guess a person with that issue of a Mag will know...

thanks for the link...

I read somewhere they don't do too well with the Shoei visors, they have UV-blocking in them.

I have got one, very light brown insert. I got it from freedom motorcycles at Brookvale. I was using anti-fog spray before and got anoyed with putting it on all the time. The transition is very mild but stops nearly all glare, it works well at night too, not stopping any light getting in. I can't remember the name and couldn't be stuffed going to the garage to check it so just call Lanka at freedom motorcycles at Brooky.

I fully reccomend this product

Julian....(Still can't think of a signature)

I'll have a flick through my older ones, but I usually chuck them out after a couple of months.

Yep.

I remember seeing it. I'll have a squiz tonight. Don't know about transitional visors though. I had transitional Gog's for MX and the transition was a pain in the arse when you went in and out of shadows in enduro's etc. Less of a problem on the road I guess.

I've checked all the ones I have from April through to June and can't see anything like what your talking about. Must have been an earlier one.

I use one of the hyper-optics ones on my Shoei visor, and have not had any problems at all, not a skerrick of fogging too! And i find the tint is good, I have not had any issues with only half doing the transition or anything like that!

I would recommend them to anyone,

Cheers,

I wonder if rubbing in saliva on the inside of your sheild like scuba divers do will work?
Personally I have not tried it in a helmet but works well in a scuba mask and a cheap alternative allthough a bit grose.
I know it works on specticles, I worked with a guy in a boiler house and he said it stopped them fogging up when we were working around hot water and live steam, I use to laugh and shake my head when he would bring up a big hukkin gorby and spit on his glasses  ( was also funny when coal dust stuck to the spit too  )
Anyway just an Idea.

OPSM lens cleaner works pretty well and is a fairly cheap alternative.

I checked the last three issues of AMCN and all I could see was the fog city ad. I know what your talking about though because I remember seeing the bloody ad and it looked like a complete visor.

I'll check again on the weekend. might have been an older issue but I might have chucked it.
