re: This only happens once

I don't speed, but one day they did send me a letter with a beautiful picture of the rear of me on my bike, and said I was going at 71km/h in a 60 zone.

I liked that picture, but I had to pay for $100 it....bugger!

I know where you're coming from.

I usually stick to speed limits as I try not kill my self or anyone else. I've in my three years of riding never received a fine or dropped a bike.

I am also not trying to justify my reason for speeding. It just happend to be the night and place.

:o

yes, 200 in a 60 zone is little bit high. maybe 200 in a 100 zone is alright

"I don't mean to sound controversial" I think you thrive on it Shifty. I agree with Neka (there's a first) Try and use a bit more tact, when replying to post you don't agree with. Go for a walk and take some deep breaths

Now do yourself a favour, don't go looking for some of Neka's posts on his past exploits.

BTW, is 280 in a 100 ok? It was in the sticks, allegidly.

Aim achieved, then, since you're managing to sound like a judgemental fucktard instead.

but 200km/h in a 60km/h zone?

If he's in Sydney, then he has no shortage of three-lanes-each-way dual carriageways through industrial areas along which to achieve this.

if you hadn't said it was a cold night I'd imagine you're the kind of turkey who would have been doing it in shorts and a t-shirt too.

You'd imagine that based on what, exactly?

YOU are the kind of person that causes ridiculous laws to be implemented.

No. The kinds of people who cause ridiculous laws to be implemented are presumptious crybabies who whinge from the sidelines and complain to lawmakers about things they heard about from third-hand accounts...

...if multiple police officers at the scene at the time concurred that no further action was required, how exactly do you qualify as being able to second-guess that?

People like you crash at 200km/h in a 60km/h zone and get dead,

Know both him and a number of people who've crashed doing 200 through 60 zones and died, do you? You must, otherwise you'd just be talking out of your arse here, wouldn't you be?

while those of us who save shenanigans for a more suitable time and place

...and these more suitable times and places would be...where and when, exactly?

get strict motorcycle exhaust laws, 50km/h zones and anti-motorcycle press.

Is that sentence structure supposed to imply that, somehow, ratbag riders are exempt from these oppressive road rules and adverse press? If that's the case, problem solved, isn't it?

I'm all for abolishing speed limits,

No speed limits anywhere? What a dumb idea...

...that aside, wouldn't what Mile says transpired fit right with your vision? Dude blows by the cops at an obscene speed, but without coming even close to harming, or ever upsetting, anyone, the cops stop him, look him up and down, deem him not to be a fuckwit, and send him on his way.

Where's the problem? How differently would this premise have played out if there were no speed limits at all?

but people like you demonstrate why it will never happen.

How does he do that? By being stopped by the cops in incidents which, due to no action being taken, will disappear without trace?

Was pulled over for doing 149 in a 110 at collector, near canberra. I was very polite to the copper who took a fancy to my Car. Asked me the usual questions, and I was like, yeah, I know I was speeding. I cant hide from that. I know exactly how fast I was going. All I said was, Sorry officer, being very genuine. (makes me think though, was I sorry for speeding, or for getting caught?!) Said he had to fine me cause he had called it in but he wrote me up for doing 120. But he wanted me to give it a rev before I left!! Took it easy all the way home!! Save me $$$$ and my licence itself, automatic loss if you are caught over 30 kms/hr or 130 kms/hr (apparently)...

At parra (on my bike), was on george street, when a rotary powered car pulled up next to me, left him behind very quicky and slowed down at my work at the time (used to be a bouncer at Roxy, for the sydneysiders). 2 cops come out of the blue, the guy walks over to the guy in the rotary, books him for speeding, defects, etc etc... The gal walked over to me (ABSOLUTE HONEY!!!) and was chatting to me. Turns out she likes bikes and was actually chatting me up!! (NICE!!) Told her I was the bouncer there... caught up after work... oh yeah, no ticket, nothing...

Cops arent all that bad... I've had only Good Times...

(BTW, where is LOVE GUYS?! Easy does it... WE are all mates here, expressing our opinions. No need to get so worked up. Think Miles has learnt his lesson, so I dont think any judgement need be passed either way... Was enjoying reading other peoples run in's till this point...)

Yeah, go to your rooms and spank yourselves. Think long and hard about what you've done, and what you've said. Then kiss and make up, well so to speak. Unless of course you're into that kind of thing. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
