Regrets... Part of middle age I guess.

When i was seventeen and my grandfather,who i was living with passed away i was left $25000.The house which was left to my aunty(my mother died years before) sold for $80000. At the time i didn't have a clue about mortgages or any of that stuff and didn't think anything of it but looking back i wish someone could have guided me towards buying the damn thing somehow.Admittedly the banks were not likely to lend a 17 year old on $150 bucks a week the money to do it but i wish someone could of got in my ear with some sensible advise!
