Moto GP tipping comp 2013..

Jonno - if the podium is Win = Yamaha, 2nd = Yamaha, 3rd = Honda Repsol, then the top two winning teams are Yamaha & Honda Repsol.
So you're not tipping 'the team in the winning spot' and 'the team in the second place spot' on the podium, you're tipping the top two highest teams on the podium, if that makes sense.
And to make it easier, you can't tip the same team twice in top two teams, because Dave rocks and is used to coding solutions for human dummies who will get confused and stuff things up (like me!)

Lol. When I first joined up I was still under the impression you guys were talking about Footy tipping (this is in spite of it being written quite clearly and seemingly a thousand links to it care of RedDave)... OhKay brainfart I know.

So I was a bit surprised when I had joined to see it is MotoGP. In spite of being a Sew Thefrican bahstid (well, I WAS one) I probably know more about Footy than the bike racing - with my stunning 12 points, can you tell?!

I thought the teams would be ranked according to the points the team scored.

So Yamaha 25+20=45, Repsol Honda 16+13=29 etc

I can't find how points are calculated anywhere other than 5 points each for picking the top 2 teams...

Can it be put on the home page or somewhere in the tipping comp pages.......... Just in case on a very, very, very, rare occasion, a mistake is made in the adding up of points and us punters can easily check our own results.......

think my point is, is it the best bike in a team or the overall results of the team over the two bikes that ranks the teams

I don't think we've deviated from the original OzTips scoring system to knowledge.

1) Pole Position - 5 points if you get this correct, 0 points if you don't
2) Race Winner - 5 points if you get this correct, 0 points if you don't
3) Top 2 Teams - 5 points each if you get this correct, 0 points if you don't
4) Top 5 Riders - 3 points if you get this correct, 0 points if you don't - These are in any order

THIS YEAR we are also awarding 5 extra points for a perfect round!

Before the season starts you can also get points for: (these can only be submitted before the season starts)
1) Constructors Championship - 10 points for 1st, 5 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd
2) Riders Championship - 10 points for 1st, 5 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd

Scoring has been corrected and updated, except for one poor sucker who was late with his tips. There was a shitload of perfect rounds!!

if you have a look on the oztips site i scored 25 points, i put the same tips in this comp but i must've been too late

Yeah, you were the poor sucker, and yeah, I'll fix it ... I was just more interested in watching the GP last night than being a coding monkey. Hopefully I'll get a chance to look at it today or tomorrow .... you'll get your points before the end of the season

How come the scoring lists everbody up top as equal first, but then the next position is 15th? Shouldn't they all be equal second, then third etc?
