Hi Guys,
What is the cheapest place in Brisbane to get a slip-on only?
I will be selling my 02 636 soon and I want to replace the can as the original one is scrached.
So, how much and where???
Much Appreciated

mate, ull prob find u get more for it with a slightly damaged stock can than with a aftermarket..for sum reason ppl like standard bikes. u could spend $500 on a can, but not really make it back at time of sale...so is it worth it??

i agree with neka. do what a lot of people do and only buy a can for a bike *YOU* are going to ride, then when/if it comes time to sell it, you sell the bike with the can & the oem one for a few hunnid bucks more.

.
slightly scratched no one is going to give a shit about as long as it looks to be mechanically A1.

I know, but the bike is in excellent condition and the pipe has a big scrach as it was in a minor accident
is there a cheaper alternative?

BOY have I got your answer or what.......!!!!!
OKAY..... I have got one BRAND SPANKING new exhaust pipe for 'our' bikes (it's on my bike) well, okay, it's been used it's whole life, but not a scratch on it!
NOW, I would prefer an aftermarket pipe (just a slip-on would be fine).....
SO, we could go 50/50 on a "nice-ish" can (i like Stainless Steel, no titanium or carbon froofy doo stuff that needs playing with after time).... I get the new aftermarket can and you can have my stocky!!
seriously.
if you're interested, PM me!
I put this on the "public" post to see what others think as well.... see if they think it is a good deal for both of us, both ways... you know? I thought it sounded good! you get a nice stock bike and i continue on with my mods!!
And the bonus is i live here in Brissie as well, so we could research a good aftermarket pipe (money-wise and one i wouldn't mind 'trading' my pipe for)
cool, let me know!

Mile636, plead with someone to sell you their stock can, someone who has put on an aftermarket one already - Tanya/ Red_Dave/Munkeygurl, you still got yours?

mickeyD,
mile's is an '02! like mine, not an '03+... the ppl's you mentioned are different patterns, and i doubt M_Girl's would be better than what is currently on the bike!

(sorry M, had to state the obvious, eh?!)
ANYWAY, I'm trying to do a deal here man!!!
LOL!!!
so what do you think of my "proposal" Mickey??? I reckon if we each spent about MAX. of $200 (prolly way less.... for a staintune or pipemaster- over next to mid-town?) we could get what we want?????
i just wanna hear what mile636 thinks too!!!
cheers

hmm i'm thinking you try
http://www.findapart.com.au
or try the motorcycle exhaust profesionals Ph: (07) 3808 9377
They're in Slacks creek
other options are ebay,
http://www.quicksales.com.au (they didn't have any at this time though)
trading post etc..

If you aee lucky you may find a good one at a wreckers, maybe trading post/ebay???
Next bike buy an aftermarket can when you get it, put the standard can in its box and store it. When you come to sell the bike put the standard can back on and flog the aftermarket can for extra profit.

Not a bad idea Yenkee, but is yours a 636?
if it is 599cc the mufflers might be slightly different.
I'm not saying no to your proposal, so let me see what other options I got.
To other helpful ppl, thank you for your advice, and If anything else comes on your mind please let me know.
So would an aftermarket pipe increase a price of bike by at least $200 or not (will it decrease it)?
Fri Jun 03, 2005 11:25 am
MG's Can is completely rooted IIRC, I think it even fell off the truck on its way to storage
Fri Jun 03, 2005 12:00 pm
An aftermarket pipe won't decrease the value of the bike, it's just highly unlikely you'll get your money back when you sell the vehicle in added value
Yep Yankee's is a poorer cousin (hahah) and only a 600
BTW I hope you're getting another kwakka

when you sell this one
