OR if it does its not the right parts for the bike (1990 yes, 1991 it skips and 250's start again in 1992). All the microfiche that I have seen with part names/descriptions do not match mine........someone might have to sit me down and calmly explain where I am going wrong.......

The problem is that rego stickers or even VIN plates, do not necessarily paint a true picture of the *year* model.
Most Jap factories are the same - they wind up with production of the *new* model, during the last few months of each year. So bikes with a compliance plate of, say, 1991 - could well be 1992 *models* according to the microfiche parts listing. The problems really arise when a completely new model gets introduced while the older model is also still being made.
That is when you get issues with a 10/91 plated XYZ 250 - which is the old model - still being produced in 1991. But - the factory has kicked off production of the updated XYZZ 250 - and the first models start rolling off the production line in 10/91 as well ! One of these bikes is a true 1991 model, while the other one is actually a 1992 model, despite the month/year of build on the compliance or VIN plate.
Don't stress the year of production too much, want you want to look for is bikes or parts that are the
same as yours - regardless if the year says 1991 or 1992 on the parts fiche or the pictures. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is that the parts are the same and fit - not if they match a rego label year or a VIN plate or anything like that.
I often buy parts for models that may be up to 3 years out according to the *model* year listed - checking the microfiche picture is the key. Parts are either the same or they are not.
