Ok.. these things (fuel pumps) seem to be one of the few things on a ZXR that will let you down when you least want it.
I've found that there exists a healthy supply of non OEM fuel pumps available, obviously due to demand.. this is good because it seems I need a new one.
The question I now have is: does anybody know the difference between the p/n 49040-1057 which were fitted to the H, J & K models (1989-1992) and the p/n 49040-1061 which seem to have been fitted to L and subsequent models (1993+)??
I don't know why there would be a difference, but appreciate any thoughts?

Not sure if this helps or not but I bought a fuel pump repair kit of ebay and according to the seller, the contacts in the pump are interchangeable between all zxr750's.

I broke down riding my ZXR750 home when I bought it, the bike shop I got a lift to cleaned the guts of it out and it didn't play up again in 4-5 years I had it.

I need to change the pump now, I've already had it apart once before & although the solenoid works well, the seals are now pretty ordinary.. so I just don't want to take a chance with it.
I was just interested to know if anyone knew if the later types were better in any way? I should have a ZX7R P1 pump here too, will check that as well?

Just found my ZX7R P1 pump... it has an 8mm ID inlet/outlet compared to the ZXR (H,J,K) pump I have which has 5.5mm ID inlet/outlets.
