Finally the post I have been looking forward to write out most out of any that I have done in my entire life. I am now officially a dad.
Gabriel Michael was born at 12:27 this afternoon a healthy 3.27kg and exactly 50cm long.

Labour started at about 3am, but I didn't know this until 7am this morning when I got home from work

. I wasn't told as contractions were strong but 7 mins apart and only 20 seconds long. We ended up staying at home too long thanks to a few weird contractions that just went on and on, causing us to stuff the timing of them up and a miss-understanding between the hospital staff and myself. I now know that "come in if you want to" means "it's probably a good idea if you do come in".
I ended up having to call an ambulance to help get her there as it was just not possible to get her down 3 flights of stairs myself, and this way we'd be able to make sure she got in quick smart. I followed the ambulance as best i could despite shocking traffic and in the 6 minute difference from me getting there after them (they got in at 12:05), they already had her in the birthing suite and ready to roll. Barely sixteen minutes after I arrived at the birthing ward our little bloke was in the wide world with us.
When I left tonight at about 9 he was still being fussy and preferring to sleep over getting fed (My wife is going to do her best to breastfeed). I'm sure this will change overnight.
I am going to bed now, I've now been up for 26 hours or so and will be at the hospital as early as I can be.
Damn, what a day.
