Ohlins Mods on 2012 Zx-10r

Sat Jun 23, 2012 11:01 am

Hi All,

Just looking for some advice on Ohlins Cartridge kits for the 2012 ZX-10r. I want to do this mod but am wondering what it is going to cost me roughly and where the best place in the Melbourne area is to purchase/install them ? Or should i just be ordering direct from Ohlins ?

Also as most people are aware the stock damper is a bit of a Toy and am looking for someone to re-valve it so it actually works on the Track ? Any places i should look at in in Australia to do this ?

Any help would be great ..

Shags !

K-tech is the way with the new zx10r's.

All the racers in aus and uk are using ktech.

Yes ... but it's not perfect, my k-teck (and others) needs some shimming work, it's not quite right.

Thanks for that i am located in Melbourne so will give him a call. Need to save up by the sounds of it the cartridges dont sound like there cheap but well worth it.
I'll get the damprer re-valved though asap.

Ohlins aren't perfect straight up either.

Best to get it through a shop that's knows their stuff :kuda:

I recently upgrade my suspension for my 11 6r
ohlins TTX 25 front cat-kit + TTX36 rear shock cost me about 3.2k imported from US (kyle racing)
revalve and installation from zenodamper about 700

so all up I'd say it would cost you close to 4k in total (assuming you're buying TTX25 kit, TTX30 cat-kit probably gonna be 800 bux cheaper)

Hey Shannon Y,

Stewy Winton from SW Racing will re valve your steering damper.. He looks after all my suspension and I am racing the 2011 ZX10 at the moment. I have installed the TTX 36 in the rear, and we have that tweaked as best as we can, but as the other boys are saying, even the Ohlins is not absoloutely perfect straight out of the box...!! Still it is 100 times better than the stock rear shock, and you have to put it into perspective in how far you are going to push the bike as well..

My front forks are still stock, I am replacing the springs with Ohlins lighter linear springs just to get a bit more feel and plus and minus adjustment, but overall I like the front...!! Running Dunlop D211 GP front tyre.. best tyre around for me.. and the D211's are working well with my current package.. Now doing 45's around the island.. 8)

Google Stewy Winton, give him a call and make sure you say 'Macca' sent you... :D He does a mail in - mail out service in a day or so with the damper revalve.. excellent service..!! Great bloke.. as long as you can understand his accent.. He is Scottish..!! HE HE

Macca :kuda:

Stu Winton (SW Suspension) or Steve Mudford (Technical Partners) can help you out as already advised above, they are both good at what they do, both are authorised Ohlins dealers and top blokes to boot. As Wattie suggested K-Tech may also be an option. Andy Offer is the K-Tech man, if they are as good as Ohlins I cant advise but if you want K-Tech Andy is the man ;)
