Flooding???

Postby Zxr94tassie » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:29 pm

Hey all. I have a 94 zxr and am having terrible problems with the fuel.
When revs are under 3grand and I hit the throttle the bike floods itself and won't take of without playing with the clutch a bit.
Only happens in the first 3 gears. If my bike floods and stops I have to press the starter with no throttle for about 20 sec for fuel to clear and bike will start again (pain in the ass at the lights) lol.
Can anyone help please!!

Flooding???

Pull the carbs out, give them a good clean and while you're there check out the jetting. Get on to Factory Pro or Dynojet and find out the standard jetting for your set up and go with that. Before that make sure everything is cool with the air box too. That should eliminate fuel as a problem reasonably inexpensively.

Having had dramas with the Rex and with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight if I'd done this I would have saved myself a lot of drama.

Good luck with it
