Thing with a back protector is to try it on a bike, preferably with your jacket and or full gear on. Make sure you check to make sure you can just as easily head check and move around.

Cheers.

Depends where you are staying Dan. If close to the city, Stevo's in Elizabeth street has a large range. If out east, try Bikemart in Ringwood. If near Dandenong, try Stevo's as once again they have a large range of stuff. If around FTG, try Jeffrey Honda (See either Chris Jeffrey, or John or Jeremy and mention I sent you down, they will look after you. I have known those guys for years and just sold a bike they had to a mate in Brissy for them.)

While we're giving advice .... make sure you get a full-lenght one. Better still, get one that includes a chest protector as well (you can never have too much protection).

I have an Alpine stars jacket, and I was wondering how you guys rate these options..

I know in Tas the ride days guys insist on a back protector, but don't insist on leather pants and riding boots.. abit arse about IMO. But wondering if the Alpine stars option would be good or not?

Ferntree Gully Dan. Out East. If your at Rossi's, then the Stevo's might be the go. There are some shops up at Epping, but I am not sure how big, what sort of range they have to choose from.

I personally like the full lenghth velcro strap on ones, not the jacket insert types, as they act as a kidney belt also, which is great support and assists in reducing fatigue while riding...

If you think about what each item is design to protect/prevent, maybe it's not so crazy after all.

And those inserts - whilst better than nothing - are too short. This is what you want:

Bought some gear from then a few weeks back and apparently Peter Stevens no longer import Dainese (think he said Cassons have them now) and they are discounting their old stock. So these look good

PS They have the Cassons stock but don't give much of a discount on them.
