Please note EK and also do sprockets and chain at the same time,its not a lot more cash and it will see overall longer life than if u dont.
Otherwise just do what ever
Over the past 7 years i average 30ks a year on the bike this does not include track days,so have another read then do what ever u want.

[DID chains are made in China and are known for their maximum stretch technology. I have several acquaintances who have DID's and swear AT them. As far as I'm concerned DID's are a pile of shit. Buy an EK. I've put 19,000 miles on my replacement EK and have only had to adjust it once, and I'm a shit rider that puts maximum stress on a chain, (meaning I'm not smooooooth). Have a Jim and ride it like you stole it. Cheers.

I just checked 3 bikes with D.I.D. chains on them all have JAPAN stamped in the back of the side plate, I also just spoke with the Aussie importer, he says ALL D.I.D. motorcycle chains are still MADE IN JAPAN! The 3 bikes i checked are 1098 Ducati 38000k with its original D.I.D. chain, a Zrx1200 that i fitted a D.I.D chain to (20,000k so far), and a Ktm450 dirt bike with a D.I.D. chain that i fitted, all have JAPAN stamped in the back of them, all had made in Japan on the boxes, neither the 1098 nor 1200 have had a chain adjustment in last 15,000k, the 450 chain has done 1764k so far with no adjustments since about 200k, none have links mis-be-having (LUBRICATION) none have "rust dust" coming out of the links (usualy mis-alignment or lack lube), ALL were expensive with the 1200 and 450 chains being bought from Sutto's motorcycle supply in Penrith NSW, I LIKE TO SPEND WITH AUSSIES as they then spend in my place of work too! Haveing said above i do reckon that EK are good too, i had bad runs with Izumi & RK but in both cases they were caned in mud and wet weather which would not help their cause! As far as made in China, i'd expect D.I.D may make some of their stuff there, although their industrial chain apparently is made in Thailand NOT china! SPEAK to your local & hopefully trusted bike shop, buy what they recommend and use! Angry Emmet!

I always RK XW ring chains, have done for years on both bikes. Full kit incl Vortex sprockets from Site sponsor Superbike Supply for about $240. 30k + out of them.

I do think i will go a RK next time.I think thats the brand Stoner uses.

I did a search on DID chains and it's very confusing, (doesn't take much at my age). Some sites say they are made in China others say they have manufactoring facilities all over???? My statement was from information in their advertising in Fast Bikes magazine a few years ago and from people who had tried their chains. At this point I don't fucking know, but I will stick to EK's. A broken chain can cause all sorts of problems, the most common at speed is the chain making a hole in the engine block. Others are locking the back tire or flying off and hitting the rider. Cheers and I don't give a shit what you use, I just hate Chinese crap.

I called the U.S. DID chain distributor and she says the chains are made in Japan. Boy am I fucked up. Maybe I should cut back on the booze. LOL

From my research you'll find that RK and DID are the chains are the Jap manufacturers fit to their bikes standard.. That has to mean something doesnt it? I know that your OEM chain isnt going to be the beez kneez of the DID or RK brand, but those chains are chosen for a reason dont you think..
That said, I tried an EK mvxz(i think) chain on my zx10 and it just constantly needed re adjustment I have been running the RK GB525GXW now for a while and its holding up great

I have NEVER had a problem with an OE chain, I have even heard of well looked after ones lating to 40K and over I used to use a cheaper brand and chage it more often, now a days I always opt for the quality product that lasts longer - and that is the XW Ring RK. You can get them in gold for a few $ extra - looks horn.

Nah Oldman, NOT f**ked up at all, just getting older like the rest of us! I guess the confusion comes from what are not "global" companies getting stuff made all over the....globe< unfortunately its confusing and sometimes their advertising is misleading imo, just the way of the world these days i guess, i liked the 70's better. The one thing i DO like from my older age is the love of Jim Beam, i couldnt stand it years ago, now i just love it, i reckon it clears my foggy brain and helps me make decision better!
Back to chains, i reckon first and foremost i'd would stick to any of the name brand stuff that looks to come from Japan (remember when we reckons Japan was shite?) and carrys the name brand customer service backup and in chains that means any of the EK,RK,DID,IZUMI ect. My Fireblades, SP1,1098 all did fantastic on their O.E chains, my Ktm chewed up a Regina in less than a thousand kilometres, stretched like chewing gum and then spit two o rings off it, it now wears a DID like the 1098, Zrx and Z900 do, just personal preference mind, i wouldnt hesitate to try the others again so long as could verify that they still come from Japan.

HEY, wonder how many years before we reckon China is making good stuff? I mean we already buy clothes made there etc, its just a matter of time. Chinese made cars were laughed out of our "crash lab" down here in Sydney two years ago and now 6mths ago same brand is back and got 3 & 4 stars which is a pass!!!

Well speaking of chains... went for a ride today with kazz, she on her bike me on the ZX7R.. on way home near phillip island, my bike broke its chain WTF 2nd one in my life to do that, last time was on my drag bike in the early 80s... it was only 6 months old and about 4,000 ks old.... and yes it was a DID X ring something... not a cheap one, was around $220 from memory...
