Cranky when hot

I have Tuesday off work and I am going check the carb balance again, I understand that a tube is used and attached to the float bowl drain hole to check the level, correct?
How does one get to the mixture screws?

and the screws??
will have to check (the manual is back in the garage
and I am not going back out tonite to get it.... )
