Last 2 bikes (both 1200's)had nearly 50K's on them with still many k's left in them, four things to say about chain maintenance, keep it clean, do not overtighten, keep it clean, some lube after cleaning & rainy days (dosn't matter which brand, choose a popular main stream one) and did I mention keep it clean.

I clean mine with a kero soaked rag.

This should ensure maximum life from your chain.

PS Always change both sprockets when changing chains.

Just my 4 cents worth (got to allow for inflation). 8)

I've got over 40000km on my ZZR's OEM chain. Still has plenty of life.

When I picked mine up with 30000 k's on her, checked chain and sprockets before buying and they looked pretty good, biggest problem was the excessive crap and lube that had gathered on everything and as Neil said, give it a good kero bath and dry it and a little lube everyso often(bout 300 k's for mine) and then a rub down again, seems to keep things sweet.
I've put 8000 k's on her and adjusted the chain twice, had a bit of a scare this week with excessive noise off the drive but under investigation just needed a spring clean and readjustment, reckon I've got 5/6000 left in the set......total k's would be around43/44000,reckon that would be time for her third set in her lfe, average I guess!
Spotted a full kit in the US (RK) retailing at 250Aus delivered any feedback on RK would be good

i use rk chains...but there are sooo many different models - o ring, x ring xw ring etc, you'd need to know what one you get.
