Jesuspharkingchrist that bike is a mess, is it just me or is the mainframe sheared on the right side where it joins the headstem? to do that means you've had to be doing some serious front-on stoppage...
At least you are (relatively) ok, let us know if scotty isn't quite pampering you enough and we'll sort him out (a good excuse for a trip if any!!!

). So what did they say apart from keeping the brace on, much chance of any follow-up surgery? I hope not, my gf (being the know it all 18y/o that she was at the time) didn't heed her doctors advice of keeping off her knee post-reconstruction (she was in a play and decided the stage was worth it) and now is suffering from pharken-knee-en-uppen syndrome.

Every time I go downstairs and look at the bike... no I not crying... I just have something in my eye... really I do... I realise that all those times I DID actually go to church must have been a good thing.
For the first time in a while, I havent really been so interested in motorcycles - tho if you saw my bedroom, you would swear that I really am an adolescent boy stuck in a girl's body.
Scotty doesnt have the responsibility of looking after me... upon leaving the Hostible I've returned to my residence down here on the Gold Coast and looks like I will be here to stay for a while!!
As for keeping the knee elevated...yup I do that... I take the brace off when I shower but keep it up against the side of the bath. Perhaps I should stop walking around with the brace on tho?...
Today I had to drive a car again... I'm so upset its a Ford...

Take it *very* easy, unless the doc advises otherwise i'd suggest keeping the weight off (crutches are good) & avoiding walking as much as you can, at least for the first few weeks i'd guess. My gf was ordered to do NOTHING for 3 months post-reco, which i know would have been something pretty damned hard to do for her i imagine (it happened before i met her).
So i guess being bloody careful is the way to go. It's when the knee's dont work that you appreciate when they do!!!
Oh yeah, nothing wrong with a ford, when it comes down to it, a cars a cars a form of transport

3 months ...blimey
after my off (the one back in '99) I had a re-con of the right knee
cracked patella and all ligamants stuffed
the surgeon who did it, does most of the AFL football players
and he had me up walking after 5 days (crutches gone)
bandages off after 7
and exercising after 10
and yes I was walking(hobbling around) after day 1 (with crutches)
so
I reckon i did pretty well
I guess it depends on the severity of the damage
( I thought mine was bad)
cheers

well sport wise it was 3 months of nothing (i.e. no practicing for her theatre stuff). i think there might have been some rehab in there too, but i dont know the full story. I just know she screwed things up royally & destroyed cartiliage on her knee in a pretty shocking fashion too.

What's the story with the Dunlop 208's on it?
What are they GP's? RR's? or std?

If you're gonna do a job you might as well do it properly, and I'd say you managed with honours. Hope the leg heals quickly, don't give up on the scoots though.

Sorry to hear MG, Look after that knee. Dont wanna end up like me, not been able to ride a sports bike again. Any bike for that matter.
I travel that road nearly every day. That road has become very dangerous in the last few months, as they are building a new shopping centre there. And the roads are just full of dirt n gravel from the trucks. The guy that works at the BP around the corner said there has been 3 other bike accidents there in the last few weeks. And the rain is only making it worse, by moving it more across the road.
Im gonna send an email to main roads today, and see if they can make the contracter clean it up.
Cheers Sean

Me thinks there's only one thing for that, drain it of all fluids and mount it on your front room wall to remind yourself how lucky you were!!!
Be good and fix up soon.
MadKaw- ain't gonna live that one down in a hurry am I

MG - all the best... you do what the doctor tells you about that brace!
I broke my patella in an MVA (lost 1/2 of it) and didn't listen (I played squash in the brace) - dumb dumb dumb. Needed more recon work (x4) and a MUA (movement under anasthaetic) - just don't do it
Glad you're in one complete piece, though - I'll think twice before haring off next time - thanks for the post. Shame to see a 636 go, but what a way for her to go!
