Why buffer?

On my ps course/test the instructor taught us when going over a crest there's 2 directions danger could come from, and right was the scariest because the closing speed to a car from the right is twice that from one to the left, so stay left going over a crest.

I've had a few people question why I buffer away from potential danger allover the road when riding. This demonstrates it quite well

"Taking a buddy Karen out for her first sportsbike ride... A ute (Toyota Hilux?) comes around a blind corner on my side of the road and misses by... Well, it looks like a few inches. I had to run off into the gravel and grass, thank fuck the BMW S1000RR has ABS!

The disturbing thing is, if he'd run us off the road and we'd been injured or killed, it would have gone in the papers as "single vehicle accident, rider lost control of 1000cc sportsbike, speed was a factor." So think about this clip next time you see those words in a newspaper!"

Yep i ride as if every bastard is trying to kill me. This has saved me twice when cars have not seen me and pulled out on me. I personally hate crests and enclosed driveways (Shivers)

Actually if u had some decent video editing software and split the frames up and sharpen the image you could get the plate for sure!!

Farrk, had a few of those over the years, keep cool,
I had a mate john killed many years ago, same thing, car came over a rise, wrong side of the road and took him out head on, i was behind john in the left wheel track, he was in the right wheel track, took him 40 min to die on the side of the road, worst feeling ever, i felt so fucking helpless. fuck that memory has just brought tear to the eye.

Actually, have you seen the new software that will be a part of the next photoshop? It deconstructs and reverses motion blur, for crystal clear images. Even better than the cop shows.

Good example Tim.

When I was instructing we had an in joke that you always knew another instructor on the road because that was the only other person buffering. It's the simplest thing to do and the most effective at keeping yourself out of shit but with a couple of exceptions you rarely see anyone do it.

Im always buffering and it looks like im drunk when riding as im using my entire lane depending on the conditions ahead of me.




LOL, you have to stop watching CSI, you cant extract detail from pixels when the data isnt there, i dont care how good your software is.
