ajverma wrote:Well I called the mechanic, he got pissed off since I've been in and out for the last 4-5 days trying to get lots of little things done. (pulling bearings off and undoing a few bolts and levering the tyres off) The motor has been sitting there for a good week and a half, I've told him I'm not in any hurry for it, I called up to find out what exactly was the outcome when they did the compression test apparently early this week or late last week, the moment the owner got on the phone he wasn't being very friendly, this is normally a nice guy that is ok to deal with. The moment I asked him what happened in the compression test he said " Look mate, I'm trying to get this shit done for you, but you've keep pushing, I'm trying to help you but you should just take it somewhere else" and after he ranted for a few minutes on how much I'm forcing him and pushing him and how other people should come first he finally gave me a moment to speak. All I wanted to know was which cylinder had low compression and what part of the process did he think was at fault. He said he reckons the rings, so apparently the whole motor will need a rebuild. I'm still pretty upset with that reaction, this guy used to be fairly good, and he said it's because he's a man down and he doesn't like how mcuh I'm pushing. I'm feeling quite confused and offended right now. Do you guys think I should get my motor out of there? I understand , they've gotten heaps busy now, when I used to take my bike there they had only maybe 6-10 bikes outside, nowthey have about 50 and the staff has doubled. Shouldn't I be allowed to ask questions quite often, isn't it acceptable for me to expect some sort of advice about my own motor before I go out and spend lots of money on it? They've already done valve clearances, he's just told me he reckons it's going to give me a lot of problems and that he can buy me a new motor for $1100, but if he thought this, why the f&*k would he have done the clearances???? I'm not going to name this mechanic, but I'm feeling pretty let down right now, and pretty pissed off that he tells me "I've got all these customers waiting and I can't do anything because you keep pushing, I can't do anything and I'm telling you we'll give you a cal when we get to your motor" which is fine, but now my understanding is that they're going to now rebuild the carbies for me, do a full report on the engine, and then charge me everything, only to tell me it's a dud? Wtf am I paying for?
