Hey all,
I am sure a lot of you (if not all) would have watched the motogp last night..?
The 125's and Moto2 where fantastic and exciting racing.. Motogp was also ok, but is nothing like the lower classes..
What is it with Simoncelli...? I cant remember another single rider that has caused so much trouble over the past few years.. I mean this guy is fast, but he is reckless and doesn;t know when to go fast.. If Lorenzo had broken a bone last night Simoncelli would have been in real trouble...
I am just wondering if anyone else is thinking to same way I am..?? I know that things just happen in race situations, but why always with the same person..? Lorenzo's earlier comments are right on the mark. He is too young and stupid to work it out yet.. I just wonder if he will be more careful next time he crashes and he gets a decent injury himself instead of hurting other riders..? I think he has just been lucky. That might make him ride a bit more sensible..
Just my thoughts..

Yep he def makes it exciting. It was funny as I was mentioning before the race started that he would stuff up on the cold hard tyre since he fought to keep it. Irony. It is hard to look past that his dumb moves are putting others at risk, constantly taking others out and making aggressive moves. I think he may feel a little different if someone takes him out. However saying all that he is making it exciting and I probably wouldnt want it any other way.

You are right Russ, He definitely makes it exciting..!!
But every race now I am thinking about who he will take out next.. and I am sure the other riders will be thinking the same thing too...
But someone will end up taking him out and he will get hurt, then he might think a little clearer.. Nothing wrong with being aggressive, that's part of racing and winning, but being reckless is a different thing...

We had a family sweep stake... Not wether he would crash, but on which lap. He may do well in the next dry race, but his reckless style on a wet track has obvious out comes.

he is a dead set AH he would be a great rider if he didn't try to use other bikes+riders as an armco wall for him self.they should suspend him that would make him LESS self centred and dangerous.him and rossi are getting this style of dangerous riding happening.

Funny thing is, it wasn't that long ago that he was doing exactly this same stuff in 250's and we were all saying, "He won't be able to get away with that when he goes to MotoGp." So, what is he doing? The same stupid stuff he was doing in 250's. I mean, hasn't he learned anything?

He is constantly one of if not the fastest man on the track. I wouldnt say most of his moves are even that dangerous. I see more bar bashing in my races on a regular basis.
His move last night wasnt even that bad at all. If he didnt crash no one would have even said anything about it. In fact Casey did exactly the same move to Crutchlow only 5m behind Simmo at exactly the same time. No one called that move dangerous.
I agree he is alittle over excited and should be more patient and tactical but I would say that he deserves any discipline. think about it. He has now bowed out of at least 3 races in which he had a good chance of winning so you would think the loss in points and positions in the championship alone would have taught him something. He even promised his team he was going to stay on this round. Realistically he should 3rd or 4th in the championship atm so i would say that he is punishing himself.
Myself I think his aggressive style is exactly what the sport needs. Sure I feel sorry for Jorge as he didnt deserve it but at least everyone knows Simmo means business.

It must be an Italian thing 'cause Rossi is just as stupid/aggressive a lot of the time. The difference is he continually gets away with it because he's been around a while and has had a little bit of success.

He's a fuckwit but he's a fast fuckwit and he's entertaining. He'll eventually work out how not to crash and then the rest of them will want to watch out. There all fuggin princess's. I reckon he's awesome

Go Marco!! I hope he gets it together and chases Casey for the title this year and next and the year after and the years after that until Casey decides he has had enough!

last night he just fucked up... no biggie, mick doohan spent the first 4 or 5 years in 500s throwing it down the road, and marco wasnt even going fast last night... oh and i agree with marty

Lorenzo himself fucked up quite regularly in his first couple of seasons, the difference is Simoncelli has taken a few people out with him. Who really gives a shit if it's Yourgay or one of the tail enders he crashes onto? Rossi did the same thing to Stoner not so long ago, by being overly eager to prove something. Who cares? There should be more people like him riding in the GP, at least he's making it watchable. Last nights round was so fucking boring after the first lap it almost put me to sleep.
