Clutch GPX750

Sat Jun 04, 2011 8:38 pm

Hi,

My clutch lever doesn't engage until the very top of it's travel.. clutch plates or a bleed of the system? Still waiting for my Manuel to turn up.....

Cheers

Greg

:D Mine does the same and the one I had back in the 90s was the same I think it might be a GPX thing.
Mine is 25 years old so I don't expect it to handle and operate like a new one.

if you want to talk more about the bike pm me.

cheers

It's a hydraulic clutch thing, my GPX750 did it, and my RF900 has a similar set of behaviour.

my old GeePeeX7fiddy did the same at first
til I ummm sorta...modified the clutch pushrod (bit of engineering to add an adjuster to make it longer or shorter)

Thanks for the reminder Smitty, I remember what i did to fix that.
The clutch lever from a ZX-10 fits nicely without modification! (i think a ZX-6 uses a cable clutch if i rememer rightly)

The joys of standardised parts over many many models.
