You don't learn anything by paying other people to do stuff for you... actually, wait, you do. You learn you obviously have too much money! :)

are there any pock-marks in the top of the piston ?

The gudgeon pin does seem quite loose, but who knows. As for the piston, it's hard to see past all the oil and carbon to tell if there's any pock marks!

Anyway, the bloody thing didn't blow up. He got a good hour out of it, then the clutch started slipping. Not sure if it's the clutch shoes or the springs. Probably the springs. Either way, it's up on the bench and waiting for me to whip the clutch out. A set of new springs from Cannon Racecraft, a new piston kit and she should be right as rain (which, by the way, is a stupid idiom).

Agreed. When I had the Husaberg motor rebuilt, I paid someone else to do it. A new motor for that bike was $4,500!!! A new motor for the PWis $380. My limitations are directly proportional to the cost of fixing my fuckups. :)

Actually, I was just going to take a quick look. If it looked worn out, I'd think about replacing it. The only measuring tool I own is a tape measure. :)
