Dude, I agree with Strika , fucking toughen up a bit, you will get used to it.

Try a naked, Zed or ER6 they are comfy and pretty fucking quik if ya want them to be ( Zed in mind) .

Ditch the shoes (leave them at work).

I too use a backpack but im a fucking athlete and it would not be fair to compare. Im on my bike twice as long as you and i High 5 streetlights when i get off. Feel fucking great.

Now if you dont mind im gunna punch out 1000 Reps on the Bench press.

Get a er6l mate, i dont know why people buy the 250 when you can get a 650 learner for similar money thats more comfy too..

Spot on. I wanted a full fairing bike though hence I went in for a 250. A friend talked about Yamaha FZ6R and a 250 and I ended up choosing the ninja.

Update:

been riding everyday and the pain has eased off. Organised for a locker at work and at client site and been leaving the laptop at work.

I am riding more comfortably with much lesser weight. On weekends, I can ride for longer and its been good. Thanks Marty and others.

This sunday the weather in Melbourne is going to be gorgeous. I'm looking for some beginner - medium level twisties. recommend any spots? Not reefton spur though

Why not the Reefton Spur? It's probably the best learning ground you could get. Corner after corner after corner. You will only crash if you get your ambitions and abilities mixed up. A lot less dangerous than your morning commute with the tin tops let me tell you mate.
If you are a learner and find the Reefton too much of a challenge, then I beg you to sell your bike n go back to driving a car as obviously bikes are not meant for you!

Why not Reefton spur? Because every morning when I'm riding in to work, I feel my bike is the best thing that happened to me. Then, comes along a bigger ninja or a GSX-R 600 or like today it was a cbr 1000. Basically a bigger bike comes along and all of a sudden I am so dissatisfied with what I have. I know its silly. Reefton spur and Ill be the tiniest, slowest and not the happiest. I am (I think) reasonably skilled to handle twisties and corners. I can corner at at least 15-20 kmph higher than recommended speeds and I am not struggling.

What I am struggling with is to hold back my desire to get a bigger bike.

PS - I have a full license. I bought a 250 because I thought its a good place to start and I can upgrade later. So the decision was a choice rather than the compulsion most learners have.

Chum Creek and Myers Creek are closer and good. Bit of a loop from Healesville. Reefton is OK if you stick within your limits but its a fair ride to get there. St Andrews-Kinglake Rd is the one to avoid until you're confident. There's a good run from Kinglake West up to Yea.
