What are you aiming to achieve with it? A guy from the US zx10r forum did back to back runs on the dyno with and without the TRE on his 10 activated( had it set up on a switch), and found it made no difference what so ever to horsepower readings

If you're looking for top end power, it does indeed make bugger all difference. If they are testing 6th gear roll on, it will make no all difference.
The TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator) is designed to replace the lower power 1st & 2nd gear maps, particularly below 6,000rpm. These bikes have a separate ignition map for each gear, allowing tame maps for low gears to aid emissions and to stop newbs looping out. However, this can cause the bike to be sluggish in low gear mid range. The TRE works by fooling the system into using the 5th gear map for all six gears, thus eliminating the timing retard built into the lower gear maps.
I have one of the more expensive TREs which comes with a gear indicator. There is a noticeable difference in 1st gear, and I like seeing what gear I am in. I have not tried on the cheap versions so can not compare...

In fact, if mine is also suitable for the 10....you can have the bastard!

Do you even need one for a crim? I thought it was only the Gumby and Bug that had the power cut.

I have one of the ebay cheaper ones...
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Kawasaki-ZX10-TR ... 41517d4665seems to work just fine...as op have said, its the lower gears that get the benefit.... improved 'drive-ability' from low - mid rpm's...
yee-haw + hang on.....tested only on the track of course

Have the Gipro on mine .
TBQH I like the gear indicator coz I'm getting old and lazy
I played around with the map settings and settled on '2' (1 being most aggressive through to 4 stock)
In all honesty once I got over the 'placebo effect' I don't think the difference is groundbreaking
