Thanks Guys for your help, I have replaced the fuel filter and all the fuel lines, replaced the spark plugs with the iridium type, flushed out the tank,
drained and cleaned the carbies, seems to be running better, have not had the chance to ride it yet as I can not get the helmut on as I had all my upper teeth extracted Thusday afternoon and my big fat head is too swollen, maybe tomorrow.
Question/ Do you guys have social outing/rides?
I live in the Gosford area.

Thanks Guys for your help,
I purchased a carb balance manometer, pulled of the carbs, stripped and cleaned them, cleaned out the tank, replaced the plugs, air and fuel filter, and the fuel lines, put it back together and balanced the carbs, I was supprised when the thing started, took it out for a run, got on the tube and gave it a spanking, all is well, better than it has ever been, a happy ending for a change.

Hi Mark
I have exactly the same bike and had exactly the same problem.
My slides were badly worn and caused the same problems as you have. There is no such thing as a kit to repair the carbies as they are too old and no other Kawasaki uses exactly the same carbies.
I rang around the wreckers in all states and found a low klm H1 being wrecked in SA.
Bought a set of carbs for $300 and had them fitted by my Kawasaki dealer. Had some initial issues with the choke as their was some very fine dirt blocking the jets for the choke so it would'nt start when cold.
After a second visit to the dealer, the bike works great. Holds it idle not rough under 4000 and plenty of go up to and beyond 9000 rpm
Like you I have spent to much on it to sell and god knows I wanted to before the new carbs.
Also, Fixed and painted the plastic, new screen and ZX-9 Mirrors, fitted MADAZ exhaust, fitted factory size (170 now bad had 190) rear tyre (improved handling 100%), engine already had adjustable cam and port polished. Serviced suspension, fitted timing chain, did the valve seats and clearances, new chain and sprockets, fixed a couple of oil leaks.
Get some great interest in the bike as it looks old school classic Kwaka.
Hope that this helps

Hi Wooly, Thanks for your input.
Since that post of mine the bike has been down the road, details on another thread, now it has new plastic all over, problem is the box is stuck in 2nd gear, another insurance claim ! as for the fuel problem most of it was caused by Opticrap fuel, cleaned out the system and fitted Iridium plugs, anyway the dealer told me at the time of the lowside it was a write off, I went out and bought another bike then QBE approved the repair quote for $4070 !! now I will have two bikes, the H1 will have to go when it is fixed.

Mark
Opticrap does not go well in the carbied '7 series engines
It killed my 750 (I have only used it once)
and a mate of mine ..Dave (who is not on here)
used it once in his ZXR750
bike would not idle and ran sheethouse up to 5000
it also ate his spark plugs..like it did with mine
cheers
