Today marked an interesting point in my non-smoking campaign.... Managed to run for 3.5k's non-stop this morning........ ie: no more out of breath, wanting to die...hack hack wheeze feeling...

It was magical! and soo cemented that i can't go back.... now my lungs are alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed the difference in breathing at the end of day 1 :o Last week I ran on the treadmill continously (yep, without stopping) at 10km/hr for 3min ... doesnt sound like much, and it probably isnt ... but i was stoked. I then upped it to 11km/hr but conked out after 2min. Anyway Keep up the good work one and ALL !!! ;)
I've been slack with my exercise a tad of late, but I think that is due to remembering why, when I quit for 3months last time ... I took it back up - cos I'd rather smoke than be fat, GrrrR. :x
Tbh, one thing is keeping me focused on pursuing the dream of being a NonSmoker . . . and that is the ability to breathe. :D
Funny, in the pursuit of trying to be a nonsmoker, I may kill myself with the amount of exercise required, so that I dont become overweight lmao!
And no, I havent had a ciggi since 15Jul10.

Thanks Robyn..

and i agree with the breathing.....! When i first stopped i did so because even a little hill made me nearly die.... as for running on treadmill... that was just wishful thinking at the time... and over the weeks since my whole aim has to be able to open up lungs and build up some stamina to be able to actually partake in low intensity exercise..... and now i'm starting to seriously see the results!

don't worry about the weight gain.. it comes back off rather quickly ,..... since stopping in may... i put on 5 kilos and have now lost 10

... oh and Keep up the Goood work ;)

Good goin guys ..... ;)

I know what ya mean about the breathing ... first time I noticed it was only after a coupla weeks doing some yard work ....

What would usually require a few rest breaks, now can do the whole approx 4 hour run around in one hit . .. also, can now do 20 K's on the pushy, averaging 23kph with no probs :D :D :D

Keep it up gang 8)

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

Thumbs up from this side ;)

Im actually starting to forget about it now .... I do get the odd urge, but its not a craving as such . . :D

12 Weeks is certainly a good goal to aim for as I think it gives your body time to lose the chemical dependancy, and also time for the physical habbit to wear off.
