Spot on there Joe.... as I said in a previous post, something has gone astray, that bracket around the headlight does not look standard the original bracket has mounting points for the fairing.... where the lugs are now floating in space

oh ok that wasnt the news i wanted but what do i do about it?? it all works fine do i just leave it of do i source anther park? what will i need and from where?

if it aint rattling and everything works fine and it shines a nice beam than you can just leave it, or you could get the bracket modified to have the headlight sitting in the right position... otherwise its just not consmetically correct...

i bet what has happened is that the bike has been crashed, headlight fitted while naked... ridden without a fairing and then had a new/repaired fairing put back on... the headlight position probably looks ok if you take the fairing off...

thanks so it wont hurt just to leave there as is till either it fails or i find replacment parts?? replacment parts id be after would be??? the front fairing?? light?? what and how much $$$

I doubt you need to replace the fairing - suggest you try to get the upper fairing bracket as it has the correct mounting points for the light (oh you'll need a replacement light).

Compare that frame to yours - you'll probably find other information there in relation to it as well.

thanks waynemorgan i have had a look but sorry i cant seem to see the part im spose to be looking for. im new to bike and looking at that just spins me right out. upper fairing bracket i dont even understand what part thats is on that page let alone what it looks like. sorry.

No worries - the upper bracket is the framework the fairings connect to along with the rear view mirrors. It should also house the headlight - I'm guessing your one has been "modified" to ride without fairings (as suggested before). Shouldn't be hard to either replace or have someone weld up a set of brackets that will house the headlight for you.

ok great now i sorta understand lol. so any motorbike shop should be able to sort that issue out for me weld new brackets and get headlight? thats all.

It might not be that simple Billy... ask around & see what the mechanics think....... also a trip to the wreckers could turn up some answers

ok guys i had my first ride on it this morning(shhhh without my licence) goes great doesnt overheat nor even get hot. um the only thing i have noticed is that is a bit hard to move foward and back(rolling) almost like there is the brake still engaged a bit or could it be the wheel bearings?
otherwise the bikes great i think.
all for the headlight i think ill take six addicts advice just leave it alone till there is a issue with it. anyone else agree or disagree?
ps i get my licence back in april, till then i cant get it to a workshop for services and or rear tyre.

If it's brakes you may hear a scraping sound while moving the bike by hand. Thats the pads touching the disk. Check to see that the pads had released off the disks. It's possible that the sliding pins on the callipers are sticking and need to be re-greased (or service the callipers properly).

To check the wheel bearings pop it on the center stand with some weight on the rear to life the front off the ground - have a mate hold the bars steady and try to move the wheel from side to side - any play should be investigated to make sure it's within spec. Excess free play will probably be the bearings needing replacing.

For the light I'd follow Robs suggestion - wrecker for upper frame.

ok can anyone show me a picture of this Upper frame? my luck says if i ask for one at a wrecker and they say yeah sure heres one, id have no frecking idea what im buying. it could be pushbike frame for all i would know!

yes sorta one problem out. it was the pads on disks thanks waynemorgan. now how do i adjust them cos ive red the manual and it says jack bout adjusting them? only bout taking them off and i dnt wanta do that im affaid ill stuff the whole lot up.

It's not an adjustment as such.

This shows a blown apart calliper - part no 43044 it the plate with the pins that tend to stick. You may be able to grease them in situ but realistically the best bet is to buy a calliper rebuild kit. It will have all new seals needed.

Given you're not feeling really confident about it I'd suggest a mechanic tho.
