Hi how are you I am new to the site so hi to all and I hope you can help me.
I have just got a 96 zx7r as I have been on Honda’s a lot so I do not know too much about Kawasaki’s witch I a loving riding now,
I have had this bike serviced and the shims done by a mech just so I know it was checked all over for the first service.
But the issue that I have is, after having it at high rev's and then I slow down to stop the bike down and hence so do the revs it stalls on me I think they have modified the throttle to a quick action release I think that what it is call if any one has any ideas would be great to hear back from you.
Thanks Nate

You can try the Idle adjustment, it will be a small cable with a knob on the end coming off the carbies, adjust to 1200 revs when hot & she shouldn't stall anymore.... Oh & welcome to KSRC

If there is freeplay in the throttle then that is not your problem, there should be a little bit of play in the cable before it takes up & the cable pulls.
The petrol smell is probably a build up of fuel fumes from the airbox

see the mechanic whose just done all the work on your bike.............ask him "how come?"

could be a vacuum leak, check any hoses coming off the carbs, make sure they go somewhere or are blocked up
