Done many track days James? Coming sat? I'll get to use the boots "properly" ;)

It's all going to go out the window once I get on the track, but the things I've been remembering and learning are (amongst notes about turns 1 2 9 11 and 12):

LLRRLRLLRRLL

And turns 5 and 6/7 are uphill exits ;)

I've also got the map of the track siting in the see-through top of my tank bag

Can't wait!

Obviously this club is all about keyboard jockies like Tony rather than people that get out there and ride and have a good time..for this reason I find it becoming increasingly sad online..

Just a note to those that ride with me, I wont ever be judgemental and bring you down on the forum because you might ride a little slower than me or someone else..I think all that participate in this great club deserve that as a minimum..

I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to take the laptop home last night - way too much here in multiple threads to keep track of - my head's spinning.

If it's a pisstake - ya got me, hat's off, perhaps enough now.
If not :? - I still can't see all the disparaging comments justified by one comment 6 months ago.

The overuse of smilies leans me towards a pisstake - a bit over the top perhaps (maybe because I wouldn't play?)

Let's move on and just have fun on Saturday - I certainly won't be breaking any records, nor pretend to remember all the good lines for EC (if I ever knew).
I'll be happy if I get close to 2min riding someone else's bike, let along break past it ;)

Nice to see a couple of people posted on topic though :D

Once again just veering off the original topic.......

Hoff I have to say old mate I honestly don't understand where you're coming from.

Tony's comment was clearly just a play on words re Robs comment ie getting off the bike, and was a joke, nothing more. I don't think I've ever heard either Tony or Rob declare themselves race gods anywhere and I don't think I've ever heard anyone suggest they're either quicker or slower than anyone else around here other than in a good natured, piss takey kind of way.

I obviously don't know whether there's something else behind this but if there is then take it off line. This is a sensational organisation with a heap of people who get on and have the ability to take the piss out of each other and cop it from each other. What concerns me is that this sort of stuff just makes us look like some of the other online communities who are not as close and sociable as the people on here.

I'd hate this to turn into a place where we take a comment, snap and then start a personal attack with the resultant name calling etc. The only people who tend to do that are blow in's who get sorted pretty quickly and bugger off. Obviously you're not in that category and most of us have known each other and ridden with each other on the road or track for a fair while. I'd hate for us to lose long term members because of stuff like this but unfortunately that's what will happen. You've already pulled out of the Xmas track day as a result which is a shame as it'll be a bloody good day with some good natured banter no doubt.

All I can say is take it easy old son and chill out. As for speed on the road or track, who gives a bugger, so long as everyones enjoying themselves and not crashing into everyone then it's all good. You know what I'm like, I'm a slow old bugger relatively speaking because that's how I feel comfortable riding. I take it easy on the road because my number one priority is not stacking. I take it relatively easy on the track because I have tiny testicles and if I crash it will hurt. I get my enjoyment from just riding (and going past Russ occasionally when he has a flat tyre).

Take it easy mate......

I cant believe what a wanker you are... ...Id suggest you wake from your dream "Valentino Rossi" and stop living in that fantasy land you have been living in since your variety of stacks 3 years ago..did you bump your head when it fell over?

dude, you seriously have no idea..you think you are an authority on how to ride fast ..you were never that good..yet feel you somehow have the cred to constantly make insinuations about how others ride..you are truly the wanking man's "COMPLETE WANKER"..

there are lots of different riders on this forum and they all have different levels of ability, yet I refrain from bagging people I pass on the track like their standing still as it's the gentlemenly thing to do, and I suggest Tony do the same, and in this case not only is it rude but totally innacurate..

Did I miss something here? You say that you don't bag people yet in the previous post thats exactly what your doing! :D

well no offence you wanker, but I'd lap the creek way faster than you, if fact Id lap any track faster than you. You think your quick but you havn't been riding with the big boys for over 3 years and let me tell you alot changes in 3 years, and frankly you have no fucking ideaWTF is going on....so fark off... and grow some nuts and get yourself a real bike

then theres..

Just a note to those that ride with me, I wont ever be judgemental and bring you down on the forum because you might ride a little slower than me or someone else..I think all that participate in this great club deserve that as a minimum..

Not to thier faces anyway. :D

To say I could walk through turn two quicker than I ride is just a stupid irresponsible comment that is unwelcome and unhelpfull and totally innacurate and serves no other purpose than to float Tony's dis-proportionate ego..at my expense..

So does that mean you could walk faster than I could ride around turn two? I must be really slow then. :D

Its a shame you sold your day, I have moved up a group and I was quite looking forward to having a bit of a battle with you! Things change over a time you know. :D

Re: How to Lap the Creek..

Postby hoffy » Thu Dec 10, 2009 10:31 am

yes you are right gleno..

However I will say this, I wont take shit from Tony or anyone else about how I ride, In my opinion I steer the bike pretty well and I wont take shit for it.

If it was attempted humour from Tony I would suggest he get to know the person before he slags them off on the forum so they understand it is humour and not a direct insult..I have never considered Tony a friend and suggest he keep his opinions about my riding ability to himself. Banter between friends is one thing, and I am a willing participant in this form of banter as you know, but when you hardly know the person it is unwelcomed and unhelpfull.

Secondly, I find it offensive that you would comment on someones riding ability and technique on the forum unless it is said banter between friends, it is un-gentlemenly. I dont criticise people I go past at EC or on the road publicly on the forum and I suggest Tony do the same..In fact I cant remember the last time that somone bagged someone out about their riding at EC, it's just not the done thing and I suggest Tony go and try and learn the culture of this place before he stars shooting his mouth off on the forum..

I am not only doing this for me but for people who are newer members than me and are still honing their riding abilities and deserve to be part of the club without people like Tony making little smart ass comments about how they ride..

At the end of the day, the subject of my ability is not for Tony to make comments about, he is not a friend, I do not accept banter from him and he is not someone I want to have anything to do with, and I refuse to be the butt of his jokes

Simple, luv hoff.

frank, I didnt start the battle by insulting someone, tony did, but I did intend on finishing it, which is what I have done..

If your moving up then Ill cancel the sale. Sounds like you have something to proven then? I Base this on your comments almost 2 years ago at a PI trip where you told everyone you would carve me up and *BEAT* me around EC.. :) that is exactly the sort of crap im talking about..

Hmmmm I dont ever recall making those comments, maybe you could find them and post them here to jog my memory! :D If I remember correctly it was you that continually said that you would be passing me around the outside of turn 2 at the creek, so maybe it's you that has something to prove!

As for me I dont have to prove anything, esp to you.. but Saturday should be fun anyway..
Look forward to seeing you there... :D
