hey quack
i have an 06 636 awesome bike
through my own research i have noticed people having a problem with Their Ecu getting to hot and eventually frying.
this is due to the fact that the underseat exhaust is resting under the ecu which is in the tail. what this causes is kangaroo hopping and cutting the bikes engine as the ecu tells the bike its to hot buts it not....
ways to fix it... is to either heatwrap the ecu or move it to next to your battery...
not as many 06 636 had this problem
i have heard of the front forks leaking a couple of times aswell
other then that all sweat!!
also i got my bike for $9800 with 5000km on it and came with dainese jacket racestand (front and back) some wet weather gear
mods it had on it, rad guard and crash knobs. prob payed to much but the guy was older guy who seemed like he looked after the bike so rather pay more for less km's
good luck!

Thanks for all the replies!
Bushy that sounds like an awesome deal.. hopefully id find something similar... if anyone is looking to sell their 636.. drop me a line?
This might sound silly, but ive test ridden a couple of 636's.. and r6's... and the 636 feel more heavier in the turns.. almost more clumsy than the r6.. is this just me ?

Both mine have aftermarket exhausts & for instalation some of the sheilding is removed, this must be where the problem lies.
I dont do much riding in start stop traffic (commuting) during summer so this might help with keeping the rear end cooler & hence no
dramas on my end & as for the tracky, same deal I dont have it sitting around for long running, even with waits at the end of pit lane
I will tend to shut down than leave her running.

If it's got a 120/70 tyre on the front and the suspension hasn't been changed to compensate you might find it heavier to tip - I personally think they're all dead easy to tip, but then again I ride a 9 so I'm used to fighting with it a bit

Put the right tyre on the front and/or compensate with the suspension and you'll get a sweet handling machine.
