Oil Change 250R

Postby clay » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:10 am

Ok I want to change the oil soon. I've got 25xxkm on the clock, she had a service at 1k and isn't due for a service till 6k but I want to change the oil in between each service.

1. Should I change the filter too?
2. What oil should I get? Couldn't find anything in the manual.
3. I need a torque wrench, where do I get one and how much?
4. What else should I do while changing the oil?

Thanks.

1. No oil filter should be fine
2. A good semi synthetic e.g. Motul 5100
3. YES, Firey can loan you one and instruct you on how to use it!!!!!!
4. Not much

Have fun

yeah, in between services, i would worry about the filter too much.

use a torque wrench if you dont trust yourslf to strip your sump thread.

get decent oil, value for $$ would be castrol GPS (available at supercheap) but motul as good if not better. any decent brand semi synthetic be fine.

check your chain for adjustment 8)
