No such thing as static electricity on service station forecourts!
So tell all of us uninitiated people why is it that you must fill your bike up while seated??? Is it just that your a lazy fuck or just stupid???
I look forward to the answer, should be good!

Neil

so what does that video have to do with filling up a motorcycle while seated ?? I bet you used to pull the wings off flies when you were a kid...

I fill it up while seated, because its a free world and it's my fucking choice how I fill my bike.

Just like it's your choice to continue being a fucktard who lives in the 60's and thinks that static-straps on Goldwings should be fitted at the factory ! So take your old wives tales and jam them up your polyester-protected date.

There has *never* been one single documented example in Australia, of a motorcyclist having his lazy, stupid arse roasted, because he chose to sit on his bike when filling it up.

However, there exists convincing evidence that you remain a massive tool. Keep up the good work. :kuda:

Gos Gos Gos Not sure you read so well... Never mentioned static electricity setting off motorcycle fires.(there are some documented)BUTI did mention having seen videos of fires where the rider was seated on his/her motorcycle where fuel had been spilt, causing the fire.
I think it is you who is obsessed with living in the sixties not me!(watched Stone & Mad Max a few to many times perhaps), and as for old wives tales only you would know!
I think you will find polyester was used a lot more in the seventies than the sixties, but unlike yourself I could be wrong!
And as to it being a free world...
I see you are now the expert on motorcycle fires whilst refueling, care to back this up with some facts??? Or will I receive the usual invective crap that you are so happy to serve up???
Just remember Gos opinions are much like arseholes, everyone seems to have one!!!!

Nothing pisses me off more than being asked to remove the yellow stackhat before refuelling the cage :x

hahaahaha it's like shooting ducks in a barrel with you isn't it mate.........De Nile is not just a river in Egypt apparently....

so you never mentioned anything about static electricity setting off motorcycle fires.......what about this gem you offered, only 1 page ago ?? Have you forgotten already ??

......Safety is obviously a term you use loosely! ever heard of a thing called static electricity (obvoiusly NOT) just because it hasnt happened yet doesnt mean it wont!.....See you on the news sometime maybe!....

So when I make a reference to filling up safely while seated, you crack some unsubstantiated bullshit joke about static electricity being a problem , and one day I will be on the news. And then back this up  , with a video of some dumb bitch catching fire while filling up at a US servo.....

So what the hell WERE you talking about then, if you were not referring to static electricity causing fires while a rider is seated on his motorcycle - because, according to your (usual) uninformed rubbish, you stated unequivocally that I was in dire trouble, from static electricity no less, of having my nuts roasted if I filled my bike while sitting on it.....

Try reading your own posts first mate. Even if I did dribble a bit of fuel down the tank and onto the boys, its hardly likely that I will die in some massive forecourt conflagration now isn't it ?

Besides which, I had my suspension sorted recently, so the bike is really *balanced* properly, and I actually just roll to a stop and fill the tank without even putting my feet on the deck !!

Seems that I am not the one with the memory lapse this was posted on page 1 "It's called common manners (courtesy) I used to own a servo, so I have been on both sides of the fence, also used to have simalar problems with some riders wanting remain seated while refueling, some of the video footage I have been shown where riders have set themselves on fire are not very pleasant." But its just a waste of f@#$ing time trying to get through to he who know it all! It's been quite amusing though, but I for one have better things to do. Dont forget to use Mozilla to read this as some cant get IE to work, probably a PEBKAC problem??????

Re: Have i been discriminated against because i wear a helmet??

Neil - the only courtesy you need to observe, is to be tolerant of those who do things differently. I have filled up while seated for over 30 years, its never been a problem stopping the pump when the tank is full, and any dickhead who sprays his own testicles with 91 RON deserves everything he gets.

The biggest problem most bikers have at filling up with servo's owned by ignorant little megalomaniacs like you, is dealing with the huge ego of the garage owner who insists on people doing things HIS way, wether they are safer or not is of no consequence to these guys.

They just get a huge kick out of telling people what and how to do things. Simple as that.

That really shits me. So I fill up how I choose, not how I am told to fill, based on old-wives tales. it's worked for 30 years, and I can see it working for another 30.

So Gos shows you dont read posts properly, before you jump down my throat, try reading the bloody text, and the use big words big deal I am really impressed???
From page 1 "I used to own a servo" Past tense dipshit.
The real egomaniac here is you! Have ever owned your own business? ever heard of a little thing called Public liability, duty of care! What this boils down to is trying to stop idiots from doing stupid things which may result in injury to themselves or to others. If that means saying NO to the way that some people want to do things then so be it! Dont like it tough, go somewhere else.
Been doing it for thirty years, great pleased for you. Some of us here have been riding for longer than that. So...
But you go Maaate, I dont really give a fuck either way trying to talk to you is a bit like pulling teeth!

It's all a bit sad really!!!!!!

public liability.... duty of care........................litigation....................why do we continually take common sense out of the equation...seems we have a lot of people considering and legislating for our health and safety, some who have very little experience in the real world.

filling up sitting on a bike, standing next to a car ..........yep guilty turned into a human torch no.....but best we legislate to have a person (have to be politically correct here) in a full fire suit serve us at the bowser while we stand behind a fire barrier...also ramps and no steps to the payment area should we be unfortunate enough to slip on a treacherous step. Electronic monitoring and serving equipment must be removed (it may short circuit) and a safe gravity fed delivery of fuel system from non ferrous metal containers properly earthed........................FFS.....hang on petroleum products are slippery especially when combined with water...best have no water at servo's to negate the possibility of slips on the forecourt(is this tennis).........hot exhausts/engines all customers must wait off the forecourt until the engine of the vehicle has had time to cool sufficiently so as to not be a risk of ignition to the volatile fuel....shit volatile fuel perhaps we should ban petrol stations ...problem soved.

petrol to be only used in the safety and privacy of your own home and between consenting adults...think that covers it :P

OH and take your bloody helmet off or we won't serve you because under there you may be a crazed killer/thief trying to rob the petrol station or a terrorist about to serve themselves to their god ....... FFS

If I owned a servo I'd be more worried about Gos walking in with his wasteland boots on then sitting on his bike while filling.....and if he did remove his helmet I'd probably insist he put it back on........he ain't no oil painting you know.

Back to normal reception.......Ding Ding
